Well for meal 1 i usually have 3/4cup of oats and water and have been hard pressed to find a truely good accompaniment for it. Any suggestions?

well what are your macro requirements for that meal?

looking at my food diary and seeing the daily caloric intake as well as my needs from a macro sense it needs to be a protein rich item somewhere between 10-20grams, with low carbs less then twenty and fat is not an issue because it can be scaled up and down slightly in either direction because i have slightly more then adequate set per day :)

how about a couple eggs then?

or you could add some powder to your oats for taste. (i'm not a big fan, but other people seem to like it). or you could just drink some powder on the side.

get chocolate whey next time and add 1 scoop to your oatmeal and for extra protein try 3/4 cup cottage cheese. This is a great breakfast. Low GI-carbs, slow and quick absorbing proteins.

how do you mix the oatmeal and the protein? I tried this twice, one time after i heated it and all i got was nasty lumps of protein powder, the second time i tried it,i added it before i nuked it.. (PS- a word of advice, NUKING PROTEIN IS APPARENTLY A BAD IDEA!!)..

It may depend on your protein powder, mine mixes extremely well, also, make sure your oats aren't rock hard, its rather difficult trying to mix protein powder with hard oats.

I use EAS - Simply Whey as well as I think pup does.

It mixes easily into oatmeal after its been cooked.

A tablespoon or two of natural peanut butter mixed into the oatmeal is really good.

Or cut up an apple and add that along with some cinnamon.

Those are my favorites...

damn reinier..no need to wig out him. i don't think he was complaining about the taste..he just needed to know what else to eat with it, to fulfill his Meal 1 goals.

What's good with oatmeal? Hmmm, ....nutter butters. And chocolate mousse pie, and lots and lots of alcohol, hey why not just throw in some diesel fuel.

Actually, now that i think of it, i don't know what would taste good with oatmeal. I like to just eat it raw out of the can. So, um, water?

I use 1/3 cup oatmeal, one TB natty PB, and then when it's cooked I stir it all together and add in a little dried cranberries and a scoop of protein. I can't get enough of the stuff!

You can also blend it with eggs, cinnamon, etc, and make a good protein pancake with it.
