I was looking for a way to increase the carb content in homemade protein bars, and found a recipe on a cycling board that uses corn syrup as an ingredient. Not the evil HFCS variety that is getting bad press, mind you, but the regular baking variety. Here's the breakdown per tablespoon for regular corn syrup:
Total Carbohydrates 15.5 g
Sugars 5.3 g
Any thoughts on this as a way to up the calories (good/bad)? Any other suggestions? I already put in a lot of oats.
