i love beer, but im going to cut back bigtime while i cut. would a night of drinking every two weeks be too much?

1) It could hurt your progress if you binge drink... Do you?

2) Why not just stop drinking for your cut? Prove to yourself that you don't need it. It is a good opportunity to take mastery over your body.

arnold has perfect genetics and gear on his side...

i have terrible genetics and protein shakes on my side...

and there is no way im ever going to completely give up on beer. i love beer just as much as bodybuilding (sad i know)

but i am willing to cut waaay back. just wondering if one time every two weeks is enough of a cut back

It does, and fat burning, AND it's empty calories.

every two weeks it is....

right now it's been 7 days and im DYING for a beer. but isn't like one beer per day healthy??

so i could drink a single beer every few days and be okay right??

Drink good beer if you can only drink a little.

Exercise more and drink more.

How about we just pretend all of that isn't true, and pretend that beer actually helps your training.

That's what I like to think everytime I'm drinking a beer.

that's never worked for me. when i cut last time i drank heavy one time per week. then id do 1-1.5 hours of cardio the next day. still didnt help. i still didnt get very cut.

so this time i guess ill try 1 time every two weeks. then it'll be back to 1 time weekly when i bulk. :)

problem is, if it involves yeast it'll be full of empty carbs. and if it has any proofage it'll kill protein synthesis :(

I'm on cut now, so I switched from beer to vodka. Less cals in vodka if you drink it straight.

it's only been 8 days and i gave in. im sippin on a cold beer as i type. maybe im just going to be a big belly havin, powerful fat guy. i dunno. i just cant reframe from the beautiful beer. :(

On my cut at the moment ive decided to rink once a month. i proberly sliped up ob this a couple of times last year but i havnt drunk since september and dnt intend to until the end of this month. however i am now single and nights out on the town are obviously the best time to meet the ladies so its killing me and im having to just make do with the girls at work. isnt to bad. i am now getting to the point were im not missing drinking every week really and its better for my bank balance

Look, A case and half of miller lite is about 3500 cals which is a pound. So if you drink 7-8 beers 5 times a month that one pound. seriously whats that over a month? Just cut back on the cheat food if your worried about that, problem solved. Your not gonna be a pro bodybuilder and drinkin a few brews isnt gonna make or break your goals. live a little.

Liquor and diet soda can be your friend as well.

I just find it awkward that some people worry about a meal, or even a day, in the span of like 2-4 weeks thinking that it will totally ruin their diet. Get over it, you'll live.

Just go for it and enjoy it!

You can't take ALL the fun out of your life for your bodybuilding goals. So long as the rest of your diet/workout etc are in check then I can't imagine that one night every 2 weeks will upset your efforts too much.

The only time drinking has affected me is one night when I got wasted, forgot to drink water and woke up soooooooo dehydrated and hungover the next day. I couldn't eat anything and felt like crap for ages. As long as you stay hydrated and remember to eat right the next day it'll be fine!

I'm in the same boat as the thread starter. So would it be better to drink a few captain and coke's rather than a few tall labatt's?

Beer is so tempting when I go out... it's hard not to order a few.

on my last cut i got wasted every 2 weeks on average, and i lost fat doing so. I figure i would have had better results not drinking, but hell, drinking is fun. just keep close track of your weight/bf/cals and if you come to a plateau then cut out the beer first.
