i work at gold's and i was going back and forth with this trainer chick about peanuts. i said aside from the salt the peanuts were pretty healthy. they got healthy fats and plenty of protein.

she said they're bad. and only almonds are good??

Peanuts are good, I eat them more for the fat, the protein just comes along with the package. I usually go with unsalted cocktail peanuts.

they're bad if your cutting due to the huge ammount of calories they have relative to their size. You're a lot better saving those calories for something a little more filling.

yeah but theyre an effective way of getting you fat levels up. i mean theres carbs and protein in them but 1.75 oz of roasted nuts has 280 cal 24f/9c/14p

this plus milk i think makes a decent snack

im not really worried about the sodium. that comes and goes. i just wanted to make sure the fat and stuff was healthy.

The fat is fine, and salt is helpful for cutting anyway.

Are they meant to go with the beer?

Are they meant to go with the beer?

Yes, that's why almonds are better :)

I find almonds to be much more filling, calorie for calorie. They are also more nutrient dense.

Almonds are, IMHO, the best nut around in terms of protein content and lipid profile. Of course, peanuts are not nuts but a legume.

She's wrong, plain and simple. Peanuts are fine. How can you say only almonds are good? What about walnuts with their EFAs? Cashews, Pistachios, Macadamias... they taste great, good source of healthy fats, suitable for low carb diets and a reasonable amount of protein.
