So it begins.....
before i start i guess i'll give yall a little bit of my lifting/eating history.
I came into highschool last year at about 240 pounds, i couldn't bench 85x10 or squat 135x10... i was just a blob of fat.
i didn't discover this site until halfway through my freshman year and its really helped. i got my diet in check and started training to what i thought was correct....better than what i was previously doing.
well, i'm definatley not solid muscle, i still have a good amount of fat left i guess but i feel i have lost enough and really need to bulk for football. I am a lineman and 205 is way too small.
My diet is somethin like this.
m1- 4 eggs with ham and cheese, two pieces of toast
between breakfast and lunch, because i am at school, i bring a weight gainer mixed with protein poweder so i constatly have calories and protein
m2- hamberger, chicken breast
even more weight gainer between lunch and my workout.
after my workout i consume about 400 calories from countdown and protein powders.
when i get home I pretty much don't stop eating. i have a foreman so i am always cookin up beef and chicken and when there isn't any of those two i resort to tuna.
i don't really count the calories too closely because when i get home i make my own food and i don't know the weights and all so i don't know the calories in it. I just try to eat everything to get huge...
My Routine- i just recently changed to 10 reps for my routine, idk if this is good or not, i will cycle down through the reps tho
I have been told that i do too much in one workout. but i don't know when to do certain things such as deadlifts because i want to squat 2x a week and bench 2x a week so i don't know where to put them since i heard not to get squats and deadlifts close to each other, maybe im wrong
incline bench 4x10
skullcrushers or dips 4x10
rows- 4x10 each arm
*run a mile
back squat 4x10
front squat 2x10
cleans or deadlifts 4x10
lunges 20 steps
*sprint and flip tires
same as monday except with dips instead of skullcrushers
same as tuesday with deads instead of cleans
so i guess this is a journal....i will post pics probably tomorow or the next day :hello:

Not that your program is too bad.. but have you looked at some of the WBB Programs?

thanks kevin, i have looked at wbb1 but it is a 3 day split and for football i have to workout 4 days a week, last year i did five a week and i want to get back to that
today was alright lifting wise...i felt really tierd and i didn't do dips or pull ups
not a great day not a horrible day, i hope to get more out of my lower body tomorow.
I think i have found a large problem in my bench and that is weak triceps... with 175 i could do it very easily the first seven reps then with 8 and 9 my triceps would start to give and i could not finish the 10th but my chest had no problem just couldn't finish it out with the tris

after that me n my partner went outside n played a pick up game of football for about 20 minutes the ran 8 40 yard sprints with sleds. by that time i could barely make it back up to the school.
food was my friend today...i figure today i have gotten a good clean 3500 cals at least and im not done eatin yet

bad day. my upper body days always seem to suck, still didn't get 175 10 times....only nine
my back was sore tho(upper) traps and lats. hopefully that being sore hurt my bench because for two weeks now i have not been able to get the 10th rep with out a little assistance.
been doing lockouts thinking they will help my bench.. 295x10x3 then lower lockouts 225x as many as i coul for 2 sets
next week the reps are going down though.

tierd today from workin weekends on a horse farm.
lockouts i couldn't even do, i was so tierd, 225 was extremley hard. tried to do dips, couldn't...so i did abs

ya the liting is bad because i was standing infront of it because my bed is in the way...i'll just take them outside if i ever get home before dark..
somethin is wrong with my leg, i have no idea what it is, whenever i move it a certain way it hurts pretty bad, only thing tho i had a problem with were lunges.
10 steps with 115
pulled sleds and flipped tires(50 flips)
Nice job here with the unconventional training via tires and sleds...fine back and front squats - good overall effort.

um....if i can get some feed back on this i would appriciate it... i am trying to get a lot of calories durrign the day hence the wieght gainer but it has so much sugar in it it can't be good so i was thinking of replacing it with a protein powder..... a 6 pound tub is 10 bux and ive done all the gram math and price and to do the protein is cheaper, less sugar and well id be getting extremely high amounts of protein every day....is there such a thing as too much protein??
My advice is actually to do both, lot of guys here use ctyogainer (which I think is good) or Nlarge (which I'm about to try)...it may be a good idea to mix in more protein with the gainer. I have trouble gaining too, sometimes I'll add in some olive oil, eggs, peanut butter, canned fruits just to spruce things up some. Good luck bro.

so its been 4 days since ive lifted, this normaly doesn't happen. wendsday i don't workout, thursday i went to stomp after school, friday i didn't go to school n i got an idea to build a squat/bench rack at my house so that is in the works now, its pretty hardcore lol, i just hope it doesn't fall apart. it should be done in another day or so, gotta run over to the home depot, ill post pics of the finished product

i have alittle barbell thing in my room with like 65 pounds on it so i did a little workout
front lat raises 4x8
push ups 4x8
forearm curls 4x8
after i consumed a 70 gram protein shake... i have no food now so i had no other option to get calories...that and instant oatmeal

thats alright though my legs always seem to be getting stronger at least. I think i have started to realize foods role in all of this. when i stopped my weight gainer my lifts haven't been quite so strong...1000 calorie deficit

ok so its the 13th
i went to vitamineshoppe to look for weight gainer because i kno that i have been gettin a lil weaker from when i stoped the muscle juice. i didn't buy anything but i saw these drinks for like 1.25 each with 400 calories. didn't seem too bad.
not too bad still triceps....hopefully more cals. will help me get outta this friggin bench crap.

well yesterday was legs, something keeps going wrong with my groin. this time the other side. I don't really feel it as I squat but I suspect iot may hinder me about 10 pounds or so. Makes the bottom of the lift harder.
uh... started off with 225, felt good so I went to 315, wouldn't have been my first set of 6 with it but I couldn't get it.
I went down to 275, too easy, 295 still pretty easy. Maybe my brain sees three and says screw this.
as I am writing this now I realize this was actually a bad workout
did 3 sets of cleans, 2 with 185 and one with 205. By that time i was exhausted and did my lunges with 175.
really sore. tried to work on my jerk for weightlifting but 135 was even taxing
Any effort with squats in the mix can't be that bad...need to bump workout frequency and get some back work in. Don't take anything for granted because of your height, lol - :D ...If U do everything once per week you're set Pimp.

over the weekend i went to the too your helath spa and i was wonderiong whatg i could pause bench for weightlifting and i got 225, nothin great but its a start.
lunges 175 by 12 lunges per set

weight- 209 (+4)
bench- (pause 225) reg..more than 230 because 225 used to be hard regular and it was fairley easy for pause.
squat- no idea but what used to be hard isn't.
deadlift- old was 315x3...sets of 6 with 315 are no problem at all
jerk not enough
so even though i don't know my maxes I know I have gotten stronger just by looking at reps.
I'll post some new pics tomorow. I'll take them outside because my last ones were crappy lighting
Almost gained 5lbs, nice job there man and with staying on top of it all.

Upper Body HEY!
uh.. somethin happend, i didn't even feel that great but i got a set of 205 in there which i had never done before.
those lifts are out of order, i just typed them as they came to me.
gettin close to weightlifting season. Next monday we are going through the motions of what a weightlifting meet is like. mainly for the new people, like me as i did not participate my freshman year.
I figure my combined lift will be somewhere around 450 if i jerk the 225. I figure it won't be too bad considering I am 15 and it is my first meet. I only started cleaning for real about 1 month ago...jerk, about 2 weeks

Friday was a pretty good leg day, did five sets of squats with out realizing it
325 <<<<all sets for 6 reps
i had never done a full set with 315 before let alone 325 but the 315 was easy n that damn ten pounds felt like 1000 on the last set.
i was pretty tierd and my back hurt so i couldn't really deadlift but i tried, and 315 was really hard.
so i lunged 185 for 15 lungesx4
Super job on the 3pps+ squats, didn't know U were that strong did you? - :D ...great job with the lunges and deads.

Ya I think it might have been a mental thing with the three plates just like the 2 on cleans

FIRST MEET EVER::
holy shiiiiiiii t there are some big mo fos. i got 5th out of 6 in 219 so i got no points lol.
my combined lifts were 440. i shoulda benched 235 but i was the last to do 225 n then the only one to do 235 so i had like no rest.
cleans were okay, felt a lot diff with the huge bumpers on there
Nice try at the meet, glad you got the chance to participate...keep taking everything head on.

ooook so its been a long time since my last post. Ive been doin a lot and just haven't done it but now I am going to again.
Today was upper body but i threw in some cleans.
started out with bench
135 warm up
135 warm up
i wanted to do some military but my wrist and delts were hurtin so i just did a set of 135 and moved on to some clean and jerk
did a bunch with 225, felt pretty tierd but still went for 235, didn't get it but fresh i would get it easy.
after that i did machine rows with 185 for four sets
thats all....... but here is an update (not any real maxes but reps)

bench- 230 <<bench was actully 220 bench- 250

I feel that I have made some pretty good progress in a pretty short period of time. I have new pics posted in the member pics section

i think i might get that 450 squat goal after all...
my lower left back has better hurtin pretty bad these last coupla leg days so it makes cleans n dead lifts tough...
I don't really do sets and reps with cleans since weightlifting started I just go heavy and do singles. today i was doing 235 and tried 240...had it up but kept dropin it.
dead lifts were impossible. 315 was pretty easy but 365 hurt like crazy so i stopped.
195 (first time)
195 12 steps
overall pretty good. Weighed myself today as well. 218.4. damn close to going over but I was over the last meet. I don't think Im going to try and keep it down this week because my coach said he doesn't care he just scheduled this meet durring spring break so that people going to sectionals don't just lay around.
That is good of coach to keep you guys on your toes that way...super squats and lunges - deads were fine as well.

last night I benched 255 at 9 after workin 10 hours.....felt happy about that....I think i could probably get 260-265 fresh......does anyone have this max??? what do you open with at meets?

ok so the meet went okay. my combined lifts went up 45 pounds from two weeks ago.
clean and jerk
i got 3rd place. only missed 2nd by 10 pounds

monday was pretty good. ive found that the reps are pretty low , weights are goin up, and i an crazy tierd that i do like 3-4 lifts per day.
bench all by 5 reps

bad week maybe?? hopefully. shoulder felt fine but got tierd extremely quick
for the first time in a while none of my lifts increased or at least got easier. maybe my little explosion there is over. hopefuly not.

These numbers you are using = ace!!...the weight loss is secondary in comparison. Really doing super for your age.

no front squats today, i found that they make me too tierd to do dead lifts. I hadnt done them in a looooong while so i stayed at 315 for all of my sets
shrugs 80 pound dumbell (8 reps)
cleans 225 (cleanin felt bad, i dropped it like 3 times and i hadnt dropped 225 for about 3 weeks)

I think I should have the weight around 2 o clock i weighed myself (3 meals)with a shirt n shorts n i weighed 220. so 219 shouldnt be a problem plus I am going to the sauna the morning of the meet.
did some bench today as well; 235 was easiest its ever been:::good sign::: goin for the big 3 before football so I am going to stuff my friggin face the second i weigh in on tuesday and there after until my spring football cut starts

I tried to pull sleds like I normally do but the knee couldnt even take regular sprints.
My weight gains have slowed so I am going to start a weight gainer.

There is no need to doubt any lifts of yours as you stand heads and shoulders above other teens and some grown men for that matter. You are indeed pimp, what you're doing is exceptional to say the least.

maxes: 280 bench, 465 squat, 32.5 inch vert, 5 flat 40 (i got slow)
Those are some fine numbers bro, good maxes...fine flat and incline benching, millies and db rows are nice too.
