beets at the salad bar

those really really really delicious (okay, delicious to me, i know a lot of people don't like em) purplely dark red things. Those are beets right? the ones that are cut kind of like ruffle potato chips (the surface looks like /\/\/\/\/\)

Are these the pickled variety?

The fact that they taste so damn good makes me think i probably shouldn't eat a whole lot of them.
