At the moment I am cutting trying to get down to a nice and lean 10%BF. And I were wondering if simple carbs are good before a workout, now I understand that you should get in high GI carbs after the workout. But I were wondering what about the Pre workout period. Because I have dextrose and I were thinking will it be ok to take in about 10 grams of dextrose as well as with other good carbs like oats, sweet potatoes, brown rice and so on before my workout.

yeah, not a good idea. you don't wanna start an insulin response pre-workout. plus you can have a blood sugar crash if the workout is long, and that sucks.

I take whey/honey/creatine preworkouts (im also cutting). I do notice if I take 45mins before I workout the very tail end of my workout lags. If I drink it right before my workouts, I can keep the intensity up the entire time. I would say the longer your workout the lower GI carbs would be better. I feel it comes down to personal prefrence and what works for you.
