After a hard workout, how much protein can the body actually use in one sitting, and how much goes to waste?

Example - me. 5'11'', 160 pounds. If I drink a shake that has 70 grams of protein ( 2 scoops of powder + milk), how much can my body use, and how much will be wasted?

-Thanks

This one topic has probably been addressed than anyther topic on this website. Please do a search.

The body isnt going to truly "waste" any of the protein. It just might not be doing what you had in mind.

I haven't been here too long, but one of the reasons I joined was to escape this kinda thing... :(

To the OP: You're body is smarter than you think, and is very capable of adapting to varying intakes of nutrients.

your body doesnt digest everything instantly... it digests it over time... your body will find a way to do something with all that protien.

like just don't get all your protein in one monster shake 1st thing in the morning, and you'oll be ok.

I've read on a WBB article that typically only 30g per sitting can be used. I don't believe it, but ya thats what I read. If thats so, eating 1 g of protein per pound of bodyweight is impossible if you eat 6 meals a day and weight over 180.
