I have seriously considered buying 50lbs + of a custom weightgainer from Protein factory.
I can make a gainer that adheres to my 40/30/30 split without having to mix and match products; making it easy to take EVERYWHERE and not having excuses for missed meals.

It would take 5 scoops but it would be
cals=1170
protein=113
fat=43
carbs=74

Carbs from Malto,fat from Egg yolk powder, and protein from a whey isolate-casein blend.
It works out to be about 3.25 a serving.

My usual shakes consist of 5 scoops Nlarge2,2 scoops ON whey, and 2 tbsps of pb.
and is about the same values.
The serving cost works out to be 2.45.

My question is this:
Having never used a casein protein, is it going to be worth that extra .80 cents a serving for the blend?
The convenience and insurance that I'll always have a meal close at hand might be.
Between these two things I might choose to make the switch.
Thoughts?

if the shipping price is not outrageous, I don't see any reason not to give it a shot....IMO it is worth the 80 extra cents, especially considering it is casein, and it will be premixed for you

why do you need a shake with 113g of protein???

Because I am pretty sure my body can use it. Just a hunch.
Don't know why I think that. :rolleyes:

I'd say it depends on ur situation. If you're strapped for cash and have a bit of time, stick with what u have, but if you're strapped for time and have a bit of cash, i'd go with the custom. lol not sure if that helped ya out at all...

Shipping is like 40.00..so ..it's almost bordering on insanity.I should just premix the other stuff into one of the 15 used Nlarge Buckets I have.
I don't know what I will do for fats tho....I guess I could carry around a bottle of olive oil. ...

still not sure why you need 113g in one shake?

It's the optimal amount to absorb it rectally.

It's not worth it to me. I'll just buy some egg yolk powder for my fatsd and weight it out and mix it up beforehand.

[b]the one~ I am a bodybuilder. Bodybuilders need protein.I'd rather get cals from protein than fat or carbohydrates. And i am pretty sure that my body can use it( None of that.."but your body can only absorb...blagh blagh..". Don't ask me why.

Meh, I just get some sort of casein blend and mix a bunch of peanut butter into it.

I would get my carbs from whole food.

I'd like to do something like that. It would really ****ing save getting up at 3am everymorning to make up a days worth of shakes, then cooking all my chicken breast.

Would you be doing a liquid meal replacement deal along side these weight gainers?

during my last round of comparisons I found ON Whey, Malto, Olive Oil, and Oats to be the cheapest gainer around. The only problem is you need access to a blender.
