How many calories do you consume on your bulk?

What I do may have no application for you. What are you trying to find out?

Just curious. Watched the TLC Man Whos Arms exploded and that one guy was eatting 12,000 cals a day. Just curious what everyone out there was actually eatting for bulks.

It depends on what you weight. Someone weighing 100lbs is going to eat a ton less calories than someone that's 250. I am eating 3500-3700 on my bulk lifting days and 2700ish off. I weigh 205.

Silver, just looking at your sig, I see that you are cutting, presumably since nov '05 since you have lost 15 pounds since. First question, why cut over the holidays? It's the hardest time of the year to cut for obvious reasons, and the least desirable time to cut - no beach. Second question, if you have lost 15 pounds already on your cut are you cutting or simply loosing weight? What is your BF?

Yeah I know. I was just curious if there was anyone on here eatting 5000 and up. Or what a lot of people were around. It was general curiosity. I had no intention in using anything from this post to adjust my caloric intake.

I cut over the holidays because I put 12 pounds on in about two months and was thoroughly disgusted with myself. Yes, I stopped cutting Dec15th till January 11th. Cutting to lose fat. I know I have little potential to gain muscle. But since this is really the first time I have ever lifted in my life, I have actually noticed a drop in fat and a gain in muscle. Now after research I know there will be minimal gains from cutting. November 05 I was 23%bf, now I am 15%bf.

I put 6-7000 but at the end of a bulk I do go above 7 in order to continue gaining weight. But the majority of my bulking time is under 7000 cals.

Greg Valentino (man with synthol arms, does not eat 12000 cals a day, at least on any regular basis) If 300+lbs pros dont, he certainly doesnt.

8k-10k. Depending on if my stomach has shrunk from the previous day, fluids normally keep it swole.

I currently weigh 160, and am hitting 4200+ calories a day divided up into 6 meals of at least 700 calories. It's really easy to go over that 700 per meal with a power protein shake of at least 550 calories!

"570" Power Protein Shake:
1 cup 1% or Skim Milk - 100 calories
1/3 cup dry nonfat milk - 80 calories
1/3 cup Carnation Instant Breakfast Rich Milk Chocolate - 130 calories
3 tbsps Carnation Malted Milk Powder - 90 calories
1 scoop ON 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein Vanilla Ice Cream - 120 calories
1 tbsp Flax Seeds - 50 calories
6-8 ounces of water or crushed ice
Total = 570 calories!

Hehe, of you can EASILY hit 1000 in a shake:
500ml full fat milk
2-3 scoops of whey (~60g)
100g powdered oats
4 tbsp peanut butter
3 tbsp olive oil (dont worry, you can't taste it)

100g powdered oats
4 tbsp peanut butter
3 tbsp olive oil (dont worry, you can't taste it)

Peanut Butter doesn't blend very well, and too much whey protein in a day is dangerous (no more that 4 scoops). I have my shake 4 times a day, which comes to over 2,000 calories alone!

Get a better blender for the PB ;)

Too much whey is dangerous??!!!11 Really...

Proof please? Unless you can find me some recent research saying that whey is bad for me, I'm saying that you're full of crap and that you should have kept your mouth shut until you know what you're saying.

Thanks :)

this is utterly and disgustingly wrong. this is like saying you can't eat too much chicken or steak or pork or fish. whey protein is just that, protein, its just in powder form because liquids sometimes go down easier than whole food.

i try to get at least 250g. of protein a day and if divided into just protein powder it would equal about 10.5 scoops at bare minumum...how come i haven't died yet?

Hey, best buddy, good to see you again!

I'm not saying whey protein is bad for you, but TOO MUCH of it in a day can cause some health problems. I have read this over at bodybuilding.com.

Your point? That is the worst information I've ever heard. That would only make sense to someone who's highly allergic to milk/cheese products or something.

The back of your protein bag isn't the best source for scientific information and neither is bodybuilding.com. But drinking nothing but whey shakes all day isn't a good idea, anyway.

As long as you drink plenty of water every day, life should be good for you. I read that whey can get backed up in your liver and cause your liver to slow down, thus slowing down your filtering system.

If you leave your body bone-dry by not drinking enough water that'll cause a multitude of different problems. Your liver is almost 90% water, so you can imagine how important it is.

Got ya beat bro, and i'm only half dead. I average 18 scoops a day on a bulk.

And people should probably not just regurgatate what they read on bodybuilding boards or from supp companies without at least researching it first.
