I eat chicken and steak and drink ON Whey during the day. Im 184lbs so I should get 184g of protein. But some days Ive took in between 200g-270g protein off of 2400cals.

Are there any advantages in getting extra protein?
Is extra protein harmful, (ie Ive heard excess protein adds fat?)
At night if Im already at 190g of protein, would it be beneficial to drink a protein shake?

/\ All of the above is assuming Im staying within my daily allotted bulk calories.
Thanks

I usually consume around 200g protein daily, and I have less than 115 lbs of LBM.

Excess protein won't make you fat - excess calories will.

Thanks :-D I was going to PM you but I figured I'd post. Is there any advantages to extra protein? My cousin is 6'3'' and 200lbs and he consumes 400g a day he says...

I find it more satiating than carb. Beyond what you "need", that's pretty much it.

I think you need to bulk on more than 2400 calories.

Congratulations.

Yes, you were once a fatty, but now you are not. They are two completely different people, with two completely different outlooks on fitness/nutrition. You won't get fat unless you LET yourself get fat. :)

i would up the fat...you don't need to be afraid of it, again excess fat/protein/carbs do not make you fat, excess cals will. Within your caloric goals you want to shoot for .5g good fats/lb. of BW and at least 1g Protein/lb. of BW...

by good fats i mean EFA's, avocados, nuts, natural nut butters, flax, etc. etc.
