I have been running on about 2000 calories a day. Six months ago, for a total of 4 months I was running on close to 6000.
Should I jump ahead and start cramming down 6000 or maybe increase in incriments of 500-1000 each week?

What are your maintenance calories? How lean are you, and how long have you been dieting?

Sounds like a huge difference. 6000 is probably too much and/or 2000 is probably too low.

increasing cals that fast will DEFINITELY result in fat gains. Your maintenance cals have deffinitely dropped since six months ago, and I bet you can now make gains off MUCH less than 6000 cals now.
