I pulled it sumo style with no belt. I did use straps as this was only my 3rd deadlift workout in a few months and I am building my hook grip back up. I had pulled 605 with the hook grip and no straps on my previous set.

I didn't wear a shirt to show no belt was worn.

Thanks all!

VasDeferens, I don't get the "cute"?

Anthony, I did 605 without the straps but I don't want to tear the heck out of my thumb like I did last time. I am gradually working up my hook grip strength. No injuries, I just haven't felt inclined to post any vids as of late. I had not deadlifted in a few months until 2 sessions ago. This was my 3rd session back.

No, not really. I train at my own gym in my basement so I can lift any way I want ;) .

Most powerlifters do pull in very thin soled shoes or in socks. It provides a very small reduction in the ROM.

AMAZING!

Talk about serious motivation. I can't wait to test my 1RM on deadlifts, I think I might shoot for 635. Someone around here has to give Mason some friendly competition. ;)

Very impressive pull chris. Looked like the lockout was the toughest part of your lift, is this common, or were you just fatigued due to your earlier sets?

No, usually it is the opposite for me. I think there are 2 reasons:

1) I had not deadlifted in a few months and the GMs I was doing don't work the back as hard in that position.

2) If you notice, just as I cleared my knees I had to pull the weight back into my body and that put me in a weaker position. I need to work on keeping the bar closer to me as I clear my knees.

and then afterwards both of you could have some friendly competition with belial on deadlifts.

I did not hear any audio, but I really think that it would have been a better lift if you had yelled, "Lightweight! Yeah baby! Poooooooo" before and after the lift.

Nice pull.

First off Chris congrats thats an awesome pull..

Second I just need to say that anyone who has not seen chris Dead in person has no idea how intense this man really is.. The way he approaches each set is awe inspiring, and the yell he lets out before each heavy set is enough to make the toughest man cower..

I just wanna say I was lucky enough to witness this in person and is a great inspiration..

You are too kind Mase.

Yeah Venom, I used to live in the Phoenix area (18 years) and my family still lives there so I go to visit a few times a year. The last time I went I hooked up with Jake and Mase for a training session.
