View Full Version : What do you guys (and Built) think of this cutting guide?

I know for Builts liking it seems the fats are too low.

For me I am going with the following schedule:

(2) Moderate Days: 247.5g P, 206.25g C, 59g F = 2346 cal
(2) Higher Days: 247.5g P, 257.81g C, 59g F = 2552 cal
(3) Lower Days: 247.5g P, 154g C, 59g F = 2139 cal

Based on the formula,
BMR = 66 + (13.7 x weight in kg) + (5 x height in cm) - (6.8 x age),

BMR = 66 + (13.7 x 165/2.2) + (5x 179) - (6.8 *25) = 1833 cal
Activity Level = 1.6
Maintainence Calories = 2932.8

With a 20% decrease, thats where we get the 2346 for the moderate day.

Do these numbers seem ok to you?I dont know if they seem a little high or not.

I am currently 165 pounds, 5'10.5'' and about 15-16% bf.

What do you think about these numbers? (Built)

but i was thinking same thing of maybe increasing fats by 10g and drop carbs by about 25 g each day.

But according to that formula that is what the fat intake should be.

I dont know im pretty confused.

well ive tweaked it up using some of Builts methodology. I upped fat to 70g (0.5/LBM) and protein down to 1.5/LBM (210). I also made the carb intake on moderate day to 1.25/LBM which is 175. We will see how this goes now.

Today I went very radical and dropped carbs down to 100 and fat up to 100.It was fun eating nuts and lots of natty pb today. Today was an off day of course.

Well since it was sunday, I slept in. I wasnt awake for as many hours as I usually am on a work day, and I was eating every 2 hours, but i was pretty hungry throughout the day. I felt very tired also because my legs were dead from doing 5x5 squats and 3x8 leg presses the day before. My legs are still dead.

Have your cals dropped a bit too low? You shouldn't have to starve to do this.

ok let me clarify. i wasnt starving, but when im at home, i crave to eat food and not really junk food either. Just like large quantities of "health food" that I stock. When im at work, I can keep my appetite under control.

Save a little daytime food so you can overeat a bit at night.
