As bodybuilders, with all the protein we intake, we all know that it's important to drink lots of water to help maintain a healthy nitrogen balance. Well, do we? Just wondering how much of the good, clear stuff you swallow! H2O fo' sho'!

Wow....water. I drink water all day long...one of the things I love to do is get myself a case of water that has a high alkaline balance to counteract the acidity in my body.
Here is a link for anyone that would like to see....

When I drink this water my sense of smell hightens and my eyes hydrate to a point where they water.

If anyone thinks that they can do without water then you must try at least one of the brands that offer a high alkalinity. When I visited New York there was a water called Volvic....that was a good one too. The only thing I did not like about it is that they added fluoride to their water....Fluoride being good for your teeth has no business in your body.....don't buy into the Fluoride is good for your teeth bit and drink water that has fluoride in it. Fluoride IS A CARCINOGEN....

Gallon and a half. 2 gallons on a rough training day. 2 and half gallons working.

1L of green tea and 1L of milk. I used to be closer to a gallon of fluid (2-3L water, 1L milk), but my hydration seems to have improved by drinking tea instead of water.

I don't know, I don't count.

Don't forget veggies too, and some fruits, as they're often ~90% water.

Drinking too much water will drain vitamins and minerals.

but 'too much' water is a rediculous amount...so i wouldn't worry about taking in 'too much' water.

Since the average joe needs 8 glasses of water a day, which is 1/2 a gallon, I just drink twice that amount which is 1 gallon. BBC, is there really a benefit to drinking 2 gallons of water over 1 gallon a day?

I usually grab a gallon jug and swig on it all day.

Granted I only skimmed through that article, but it seems that nitrogen balance has nothing at all to do with water, and everything to do with protein intake.

Granted I only skimmed through that article, but it seems that nitrogen balance has nothing at all to do with water, and everything to do with protein intake.

In fact the word 'water' only occurs once in the entire article.

"Protein makes up 15-20% of ones bodyweight and is thus, next to water, the body's second most abundant substance."
