What do you think about a diet made up of only 800 calories a day.

58% Protein (114g), 22% Fat (19g), and 20% Carbs (42g)

What do you think about a diet made up of only 800 calories a day.

60% Protein (480g), 20% Fat (160g), and 20% Carbs (160g)
480g of protein has 1920 calories.
160g fat has 1440 calories.
160g carb has 640 calories.

This diet totals to 4000 calories.

Sorry I had the g's in the spot of the individual cals.

This person is a co-worker and weighs about 190 and is about 5'11. He's not cutting per se because he's never worked out. He's just trying to loose weight.

Short answer:

Terrible. You will be a muscle burning, fat sparing machine.

Long answer:

Terrible. Go buy Lyle McDonald's 'Radical Fat Loss Diet' from www.bodyrecomposition.com and learn to VLCD properly.

It's dreadful.

Even my 100lb girlfriend eats more than that.

Well ever since we had Weight Watchers come to work there's people coming out of the woodwork trying to loose weight.

I figured that this guy's body would be holding on to every bit of fat it could and start burning off musce, but he's getting "results" with it and says he's sticking w/ it.

I told him he may see better results if he increases his caloric intake a little, be he's in the mindset that less is better.

I'm not too concerned about him storing fat and loosing muscle, but I was wondering if there are any other health hazards to eating so little. He's been doing this for like 2-3 weeks and has lost about 10 lbs.

There are right ways and wrong ways of doing a VLC diet. What you posted would be a wrong way.

A better approach would be 100% (or near enough) of calories from protein, not including some EFAs from fish oil caps.
