Alright, I'll get right to it: I'm 160, and, I'm up to 4,500 calories a day. So far, so good!

Dude. We get it. You're eating 4500 cals to gain. No need to tell us... again.

why do u make so many polls?

Let's make a poll to find out!

I'm just interested in the amount of calories that work according to people's weight.

:zipit: that made me chuckle

We're just teasing you urban - probably that work has already been done - lots of online calculators are available online to estimate calories based on activity level and weight.

Like all models, they are wrong.

All models are wrong. Some models are useful.

That's why I'm asking for people's personal experiences. I could easily type factors into a formula and come up with calculated answers. I'm just wondering what works for you, the WannabeBig Forum users.

Hey, Built: just out of curiosity, what is your profession?

Your comment about models was almost verbatim the words of my statistics professor earlier this year.

It's a George Box (industrial statistician) quote. He used it in a book he wrote:

203-205lbs on a slight bulk at about 3,300 calories a day. Problem is I don't keep track of how much alcohol I drink and to be honest it would bring my average up at least a couple hundred/day.

Analyst. Statistician by education.

that right there explaines so much to me about how you work the posts you make...

now I can make stupid probability references and know atleast one person will get it. I told my boss the other day there was about a .6 propability of me doing something he had asked me to do and says "that's not even 50/50!", and about 3 hours later he comes back saying "see I thought .6 was like less than 1%, but then I put it on the adding machine and realized it was a little better than 50/50!"
