Ramblings
So, it's been awhile (I think I've started about 6 journals this way).

If you don't know me (and most people probably don't remember me), I've had quite a few journals. For your education:

The first and legendary 'Hell, why not?':
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=7834

The rest (which are of little note):
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=21172
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=22016
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=29840
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=46611
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=60571
http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=60571

The title of this journal comes from an article I read quite a few years ago by the one and only (and moronic) Nelson Montana in Muscle Mag. He referred to a poster he had which was had a bodybuilder on it and the text 'There is no finish line', which speaks to the fact that bodybuilding is an unending quest for continual improvement that has end point at which you can say 'The contest is over' (I guess if you're a competitive bodybuilder you can, but whatever).

I have no contest. I have no real end goal, nothing in my mind saying that 'by this date I have to be such and such bf% and weight'. Perhaps, I should. For right now, it's about the journey. About improving. My recent return to dieting was precipitated by the fact that a friend who does some modeling (http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/f58/helpmelooser/) asked if I could help out and do some modeling with her (the found a real *model* in the end). I realized I wasn't sure if I could. I'd like to hit 10% bodyfat, then slowly bulk up. This always seems to be my goal. I'd guess that currently I'm sitting at 12-13% bodyfat and about 206lbs. Here is a pic from several weeks ago:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e335/zacbol/homo.jpg

I'm doing the UD2...yet again(this always seems to be the case--at least for the last several years). I've been drinking heavily on the weekend (and in a state of weakened will-power I often eat Taco Bell after my binge drinking). This has been somewhat impeding my progress. I may cut the drinking out. Or lessen it. Or may not.

I'm natural...or consider myself to be, although I used prohormones several times 3-4 years ago 2-3 times for two week periods (Some would say this disqualifies me from calling myself 'natural', to which I say 'Okay, whatever'.) I use creatine, ephedrine, fish oil, and vitamins. I may at some point use anabolics, but I fear my hairline is receding and I'd prefer to keep my hair. Apropos, I'm using finasteride (by prescription) at 1mg a day. I have had no noticeable sides.

We shall see how things develop.

Meh. Didn't realize I was quite eating so few calories. This should increase slightly.

Due to too few spaces we have a rotating roster of people who have to park at a lot away from our building. I have to park there for the next month or two. With the added time of taking the bus there, I have to make my workouts a bit quicker/shorter than I'd like. Alright though.

Ha. No, that would be pretty amazing honestly.

I ****ed up. I'd grabbed an old instance of a journal entry and forgot to delete the workout that was already there (so it was double what it should've been). It's now a bit more reasonable--though I think still decently impressive (other than my puny ass weights).

Anthony

More reasonable, but still insane. I wonder how UD2.0 would work while using CF for depletion. Someone should do a study. And that someone should be someone other than me, because I am way too damn lazy to follow UD2.0. :D

Thanks.

I tend to caliper higher than you'd expect. I have a pretty even distribution of fat (rather than a lot of guys who can have lean arms/legs with a big gut). It makes me look a bit leaner than I really am. I haven't been calipered in forever, though, so I should have that done just to see.

I will log all alcohol consumption and post-drinking Taco Bell binging. Hopefully I can keep it to a minimum.

I've been training about 7 years now. I'm 5'11'', maybe 12-13% bodyfat. I mighit be a bit lower (There's another pic at the start of this journal that gives some indication of my leanness).

Yeah, I tend to work pretty fast on most workouts and am usually drenched in sweat by the end. When I do lower reps, I will rest more (3-5 minutes between work sets).

Just checked out the photo in the front and one one on the second page... I gotta say dude. You good great and that is an understatement. Natty? or not?
Thanks. Yep, I'm 'natural' (i.e. I've never used illicit anabolics). I've considered using at times, but I'm worried about my hairline. Plus I still think I can continue to improve without them (even after 7 years at this). If my hair does all fall out, I might just say '**** it' and give them a go to see what I far I can take things (I think I could become moderately impressive if I did 1-2 12 week cycles).

Used prohormones a couple times about 4-5 years ago for two, two week periods, but that's it (Some would say that disqualifies me from 'natural' status, to which I say 'Okay, whatever'). Of course, I used to be pretty supplement crazy, but most of those really had little impact IMO.

For now, I stick to:
protein powder
ephedrine/caffeine
creatine
dextrose
fish oil
vitamins

That's pretty much it.

Update: So, uh this weekend was a disaster in terms of diet. I negated any progress made in the last week. I did avoid getting ****faced (I had about 6 drinks on Saturday night, but that is not much for me), but I did eat a LOT of total ****, including:
McDonald's: 2 Sausage Egg McMuffins (Saturday, 4am)
Taco Bell: Grilled Stuft Burrito + Spicy Chicken Burrito
McDonald's: 1 Big Mac + 1 Big & Tasty (Sunday, 2am)
Bunch of hazelnut filled cookies (like a box)

Uh, I suck. I'm still trying to decide if I take a week off (which I was contemplating after my last power workout--I have a few aches here and there), or suck it up and really be dedicated (and cut the above kinda **** out) for the just 5 weeks and be done with it.

Well, last nightme and a few friends hit a local bar where Pedro (of Napoleon Dynamite fame) was spinning. Funnily, enough, it was just the same ****ty music they always play. In spite of that I had a good time. Two groups of girls totally accosted me, and another friend convinced me to ride the mechanical bull with her...so it was a good night. I however end up drinking more than I intended. Everyone wanted to do shots of tequila in honor of Cinco de Mayo and one of my friends bought me a huge ass bottle of Corona (which I generally think tastes like ****). My alcohol consumption looked something like:

Between 8pm and 12:30pm
1 gin & tonic
1 gin & tonic
1 shot of vodka
1 Red Bull & vodka
1 vodka tonic
1 gin & tonic
750 ml Corona
1 shot Tequila
1 shot Tequila

Hmm, that doesn't seem like *that* much looking at it, but I had a moderately bad hangover this morning--probably from the tequila. I did manage to resist going to Taco Bell, McDonald's, etc, so points there.

Diet

Postoworkout: 30g whey, 35g dextrose, 5g creatine

Not a bad workout. Not great. The hangover didn't help. The DB press is down from three sets of 75s x 3 last week, but that was partly intentional as my right rotator has felt a bit twingy lately. Same deal with the leg extensions, on which I went light. I was quite happy with the dips and chins.

Update: I am teh suX0r

I have taken the last two weeks off, training with moderate reps, trying to eat healthy without 'dieting' per se (although still drinking fairly heavily on the weekend). I plan to return to dieting in another week or two, although work is fairly stressful right now and I dunno if I have it in me to go back to the UD2 until is subsides a bit.

Here's a recent pic. Maybe I'm fatter, maybe I'm bigger, maybe I'm just the same. I dunno what the **** it shows, but here it is.

One more pic from a month or so back, at which point I was a little bit leaner than I am currently (Again, whether this indicates any progress I have no idea):

Yeah, I tend to prefer full-body workouts for a variety of reasons (if you look at stuff about HST you'll see most of them). I've done more traditional splits with lower frequency per bodypart and found they don't work as well, although occasionally I do split things up into legs and upper body or maybe legs, chest/back, and shoulders/arms, but I always make sure to hit each bodypart at least every couple days.

Immediate goals? To hit 7-8% bodyfat at a weight of 185-190. What do I dream of? 230-240 at 8-9% bodyfat. Without taking the plunge into steroids, though (which I've considered) that simply won't happen. I still think if I really re-dedicated myself I could hit 210 at that bodyfat, though. It'd take a lot of work, though.

Ramblings
So, I have not made an entry in quite some time. I've been working out of course, although sans a strictly defined routine. But I've also been eating like **** and drinking fairly heavily on weekends (and occassionally during the week). I'm also under quite a bit of pressure/stress at work and in my personal life (large reason for the drinking and ****ty eating).

But yesterday, while looking in the mirror I realized what a fat, slob I look like. Granted, I'm not fat by any "regular" person's definition, but I'm pretty goddamn soft by any bodybuilding one. I'll post a before of my fat ass in the next day or two. Attached is a pic from a few months back of me in fairly decent shape (Yes, it's completely gay. Shut the f*ck up). I train naturally--not that it's not obvious.

Last week, my body was telling me I needed a week off (As I've said, I have been working out regularly), so today was my first day off for while. I'm keeping it simple using a non anal retentive version of HST which will consist of:
1) full-body workouts, three times a week
2) cardio on at least 2 days a week
3) Working slightly submaximally and increasing weights by 5-10lb increments until I hit failure at around every two weeks.

Diet will be a fairly moderate approach. Mainly just trying to not eat totaly ****. I will be working 55-60 hours a week, though, so it will likely not be perfect.

I'll use the following supplements:
protein powder
EC
creatine

Diet
M1: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup skim milk, 1 scoop protein powder
M2: 2 ZonePerfect Bars
...
(Will put this in FitDay later).

Another pic of me in May, when I looked half-way decent--although, not at my best. Arms & shoulders actually look pretty decent here. Tomorrow I'll try to post some pictures of current, look-like-**** status, although if they look really bad, I may keep them in reserve until I have the 'after' pictures ready.

Ha, no I'm lighter because I've lost muscle, I'm sure. I've also put on fat. I'm definitely not lean enough to bulk. I've come to the point where I've pretty much accepted that there's a certain weight I can't get past without getting fat and sloppy. I prefer being a little smaller and lean. But once I do get leaner, I'll *try* to get my weight back up, have no doubt.

Yeah, my personal favorites are the caramel cluster ones. Taste like candy bars. I'm trying not to eat too many because I have a tendency to live off that ****. My goal is to eat "real" food, but with how much I work, I find it very difficult to exert even the minimal energy it requires to throw a chicken breast on the George Foreman grill.

Update

Well, I'm up 2lbs from this time last week. 197lbs right before the carb up. Last week I was 195. I don't think I really gained fat, but it's likely I didn't lose any either. I'd guess the gain is probably a combination of no fat loss and not being as depleted as I was last week. The lack of progress I blame primarily on the Denny's and Chinese buffet I ate last Sunday. I was so happy about my progress the week previous (when I also indulged a bit on Sunday), I thought maybe it wouldn't hurt. I was wrong.

I may take next week off, though, as I've been dieting for awhile now. We shall see.

I still wonder what I might look like after a cycle or two, but I don't think at this point I'll ever do it. I'm 9 years into this game and although I'd like to drop a few pounds of fat and put on a few pounds of muscle (who doesn't) I'm fairly okay with where I'm at. Plus I'm just too goddamn worried about my hairline.

Update
-------
Per my last entry, due to various issues: lots going on at work, various other bull****, some slight shoulder and lower back twinges, and the fact I've been dieting for awhile I decided to take last week off from dieting and training --although, I did do a high-rep session last Monday.

I have a new release of the product I'm working on plus various other stuff going on, so I've decided to hold off on returning to dieting for another two weeks (this week and next). Last week I tried to eat moderately healthy with varying levels of success. I ate crappily on a number of occasions but relative to some past times when I've taken time off I did pretty well.

Today, I was back in the gym for hte first time in a week. Just did some high-rep work (which is probably what I'll stick to for the next two weeks). Here are some pics snapped after the workout (which was chest/back/shoulders/arms). I feel like I've ballooned up since stopping the diet (up to 206 from a low of 199), but I look moderately decent in this pics I snapped after my workout today, particularly the side bi shot...

Decided to make an entry here, although it's been awhile. I'm moving out to the Seattle area in about a week and a half and have 10,000 things to do. My last day at my previous job was Wednesday and the moving van will show up Monday. Technically, they're supposed to pack all my **** up for me, but I'm not terribly comfortable with that idea. I am excited, though. Big raise, new area, new possibilities.

Still trying to diet. I'm still (perpetually?) using the UD2. Last week, I cut the diet phase to 2 days, because of the 4th of July. This week I cut it to three days. Meh. As a result, I don't think I've lost much weight. But at least I haven't gained any (which is what would have happened had I stopped the diet).

Ha, already use it...along with Rogaine. Hair seems to have receded a bit already so I'm trying to ****ing hold onto what I have. I don't think I'd ever get surgery, although a friend did it and said it was the best thing he ever did. I saw it and it looked damn good.
