I am curious about protein intake during the carb-up meal on the NHE Eating Plan. He recommends keeping your protein intake under ~20g during the entire carb-meal.

What do you guys think of this? I am currently going to like dramatically increase my water intake- before, during, and after my carb-up meal. Now I am considering my protein intake. I know fat intake should be kept low for the most part.

remember monstar, we're finding out more about protein being very insulinogenic. I'm not positive on this, but I think some more protein than he recommends in the meal can go along way in protein synthesis.

Any other opinions on this?

hey you can eat as much protein as you can but it can be difficult to get the needed 60-100g of carbs and having 40 g protein

I agree though it is a good idea to have some protein around whilst under insuling for protein synthesis.

Oh yeah he does say that about protein being kind of insulogenic. Well see what happens.
