...what would it be, and why?
I know there's lots of different squat variations, and I'm really just curious to see your different opinions on them.

Any kind where it's on your back. ;)
For me it would have to be wide stance back squats in gear. But then again I compete in powerlifting, so I'm rather biased.
What are your goals...and why limit yourself to one variation of the movement?

well, my flexibility is poor and i can only sometimes go ATF or i would all the time, so fairly wide and as low as i can go comfortably

Thanks for the replies.
Chris- I'm not planning to limit myself to one type of squat. I'm actually on CrossFit schedule right now. Just wondering.
One thing I was curious about though was what people think of Front Squats.

Is it still okay to use low bar placement like in a powerlift style squat when doing full deep squats ?
If I do high bar deep squats then the bar is going to crush my spine....

Olympic style full squats with various rep ranges. I like to use heavy weight but I also like to go real deep.
I've tried many variations of front squats and I end up concentrating too much on just holding the bar the right way and I can't do near as much weight. That being said, zercher squats are my favorite front squat.

I've recently gotten into front squats. Hard as hell, and takes some strain off my already sensitive lower back.

Not that I do them as much as I should, but if I was absolutely limited to one variation of squat, I would do Overhead Squats.
