I am considering ditching my whole routine and just trying WBB1 since I havent seen any results.

Does anyone have an idea that I could replace deadlifts with?

1st of all...what is your old routine...

2nd of all...why would you want to replace deadlifts with anything?

Don't replace deadlifts with anything... Just don't be stupid about doing them.

Start with a light weight (very light) and worry about getting your form PERFECT. If your form is really good the chances of injury are very low. Watch videos online, read threads on deadlift form, articles about deadlift form, and get guys at the gym who know what they are doing to check your form. Then you can start upping the weight... Just not too fast and never sacrificing form.

What better way to avoid further back injuries by strengthening those muscles with the world's greatest exercise?

Unless you're currently in pain and have been told not to lift with your back, start with a very light weight and move up very slowly. Don't be stupid about it, but definitely deadlift.

Or Stiff-legged Deadlift, or Romanian Deadlift, or whatever.

I agree with deeder.. no reason to not do them. I believe you should strengthen the problem area anyway.. adding more muscle there will actually help to PREVENT further injury (well, depending on the type of injury). Usually, more muscle around your lower back will mean better support for your spine and so less chance of injuring it.

How would you do anything else where you have to hold a weight? Shoulder press etc would be just as bad if not worse IMO.

Arch your back = no slipped discs.
