I want to make the area around my waist and above that wider. What exercises do that?

Sorry I thought you were talking about your actual stomach and I could't imagine why any one would want a larger stomach.
I take it that you're referring to your obliques? Try Saxon side-bends. Also, you'll want to work on your lats in order to really look wider.
I think it's worth mentioning that most people don't want more width. The goal of most bodybuilders is a narrow waist, because it makes you look even bigger.

Having a tiny waist with a nice V-Taper looks awesome. I wouldnt worry about your obliques, they will come with heavy compund movements. Plus when your bulking, you will fill out a bit more.

Squats will help, too. And lots of heavy ab/oblique work.
so why do you want a wider mid section?

Nice obliq. and abbs looks pretty sweet tho, im assuming thats why, or maybe he feals disproportional

It is no longer a Big Mac.....It is a little Mac...last time I bought one it was so small I thought it was a regular hamburger.
