I think there's some sort of fat burner called gabba.. as far as I know they banned it in the UK though. (Thats from memory.. apologies if I'm wrong.)

I don't think it's in any way related to GABA (as in GABA inhibitory neurotransmitters in the brain etc)

If you want a fat burner, ephedrine is probably a better bet.

GABA (the neurotransmitter) has been marketed by supplement companies as a fat burner. It doesn't do anything with fat burning, though.

Isn't Gabba a form of Dutch techno too? :dj:

GABA is also something you can get at a health food store, its a BCAA, which can help you to acheive REM or deep sleep and as a result it is beleived to help increase Growth hormone release.

I have been meaniing to buy this stuff to help stop my current habit of waking up around 3:00 in the morning every night.

Hope this is the GABA you are talking about

So I take it GABA is not any good?

Back when I used to train GABA was all the rage. I tried recently to purchase GABA here in the UK only to be told its no long available for sale in the UK.

I seemed to get some results from using GABA but maybe I was just fooling my self and the GABA wasn't actually doing anything. Maybe I would of got the same results without it.

So much as changed since i last did any bodybuilding, what hasn't changed is the appetite i get after training, i could eat for england.

The claim is that elevating GABA levels will promote GH release (from the deep sleep), which will increase lipolysis (fat burning). Its all pretty much rubbish though, because oral ingestion of GABA will not allow the compound to cross the BBB (blood brain barrier).
