View Full Version : Is it ever too early to start taking creatine ?

I've only been benching, and squatting about 5 months ago.
But Before that, I was doing a workout that was very limited, lifts I could do with just a barbell/dumbells; Including deadlifts.
Should I wait till I'm a more experienced lifter to start taking creatine? Or should I wait till the newbie gains stop and then start taking it ?

Just your personal choice. Nothing wrong with taking creatine responsibly.

i would say yes. i say there is a point where you are too young for any supplements. once your diet is in check then maybe you can start adding supplements.
since supplements are to supplement

I'm 6"1 207 and 19. I started taking very limited doses of creatine supplement when i was 13.
I'm not sick or dieing.. and im very healthy... does that mean creatine was good or did not hurt me??? No... but just my 2 cents.

That is not how creatine works. You should try to reach saturation. Do some research.

Here's something im unsure of...they say not to take creatine with anything acidic (im assuming because the low pH denatures something?) but isn't your stomach very acidic?

Its a differnt kind of acidic, when refering to creatines consumption its pretty much anything with fructose or high levels of sugar you should avoid. Dextrose is better.
Its never too young to start on creatine, its found in meat products and your body produces it naturally, your never too young to eat meat? Supplementing is just that, if your not getting enough nutrients from natural food then you can supplement it :)

Creatine is fine at 17, and fine with your training experience.

You are absolutely right. The bodies HCL is really low like 1 or 2 on the PH scale. Much lower than anything we eat.

I just ordered 5 lbs. of Creatine Monohydrate Micronized along with 15 lbs. of Waxy Maize starch.
I'll just take a normal dose after a workout, mixed with The Waxy Maize starch, Protein powder +Milk, and some taurine.
On days you don't workout, you should still take some creatine?
