i know thats a little low I was considering staying with this but adding 2 protien shakes, is that a good idea and when is the best time to take?
my totals with 2 shakes would be: cal= 1255, fat= 35, carbs= 89, protien= 116. any and all recomendations are appreciated!

Up your protein by about 200grams, up fat by about 100grams, use carbs as a filler for any cal surplus. Try to consume about 2000 cals at your weight :)

Is 2000 calories alittle low for his weight?

Is 2000 calories alittle low for his weight?

It really depends on his metabolism, but it does seem a bit low even for a cut.

At 238 I would say at least 2400 Cals or so.

dude.. my eight year old sister eats more than you do (and I don't even have an eight year old sister). I'm not sure what that means exactly.

We can all take stabs to figure out what should be your caloric intake on a cut, but only YOU can prevent forest fires... I mean figure out how much you need to eat.

Take one week, and maintain your weight. Record everything you eat. Use fitday.com, a notebook, your grandma's forehead.. whatever.. just keep track of it. Then take the average of the calories per day.

Then knock off 10-20% of that. Eat that much everday and re-adjust the total calories as you lose weight.

But serioulsy... there's no way that 995 calories is enough for you. My guess would be anywhere from 2200-2800 calories for a cut at your weight.

ok if I added a protien shake with each meal i would be at:
calories= 1775
fat= 45
carbs= 109
protien= 196

cals are a little low still my only concern is is that to many carbs for cutting????

one more thing i do have a very slow metabolism.
