Who here eats Quaker Oats right outta the big box?

I have a big box of quaker oats next to my desk, I just take little bites of it when I feel like it. It doesnt taste bad, and it sure as hell is convenient. Does anyone else do this?

i put mine raw in a shake, but i think that this is where the origin of my dirty farts are from. I think I am going to cook it from now on and scoop it in my shake.

They are too dry to swallow alone. Sometimes I'll eat them along with a glass of water, 1 mouthful of water along with each scoop of oats.

I don't think dry oats are that bad, I used to eat them straight outta the can all the time.

Try using oats as cold cereal. Add milk to them. Different and yummy!

i used to put mine in the microwave with hot water, but recently discovered uncooked with cold milk, cinnamon, some blueberries/fruit, nuts and a dash of splenda is DELICIOUS

the very first time i tried oats i had 3oz plain despite my moms words of wisdom which were "are f*cking crazy?!" i sat at my desk at 8.20am and munched my way through at 9.45am i was still there trying to get through!! bravo to any one who manages it on its own!

Also tried it with a shake but the belnder never cut up the oats and it was just a soggy mess which nearly made me throw up!lol

I have oats tho every morning topped up with some yoghurt! its lovely!

one of the best breakfasts I ever had was cut up fruit (apples, pears, bananas & watermelon) covered in oats and brown sugar, served with plain yogurt. Its a traditional Tibetan breakfast ... I could eat that every day and never get tired of it. Try it!

I have in the past. I actually like the taste of it, though I do need to wash it down with something since it is pretty dry.

You know I bought a canister or oats over a month ago and haven't touched them. My diet is ****. I need to get on the ball.

There used to be a member on here named Defcon who swore by dry oats & hot sauce, crazy SOB.

I just grind them up dry and put them in a shake.

Just make sure not to eat the steel cut oats raw, as these have not been cooked, unlike the steam-rolled ones

What's so good about oats?

Just the carbs which you only need for a workout right?
Maybe it's calorie dense so bulkers use it?

Its high quality complex carbs. It's cheap. It's versatile. It's filling to eat on it's own, so it's good for cutting.

Jesus, I know bodybuilders don't always eat the most appealing things in the name of nutrition, but straight oats/whey out of the box/bag? That sounds so unappealing and not necessary.

1) If you're just eating protein or carbs during a meal, doesn't sound like a very balanced diet, at least not at maintaining macros in the body all day long.

2) You can make such delicious nutritiously balanced shakes, so why don't you?

I know you guys have taste buds, just because we eat healthy doesn't mean we have to give up flavor. Enjoy good tasting food, makes bulking fun.

Damn that is just nasty.

I also have a big box of dry oats and I mix mine up in that 1000+ calorie shake every morning for breakfast. And oh man that shake tastes SOO good.

The alternative is spending time washing dishes or blending or stirring.

I just can't stand that right now.
