Ive always wondered this, for my football lifting in my school our coah has us do our lifts by percentages (of our maxes). We max around every six weeks, and right after a max we do higher reps, lower percents for the first week, and work up over the six week period to fewer reps of higher percents.
Is this method more benificial in any way? Our coaches have very detailed, rigourous, intense schedule set up for us, and i was wondering if the coaches were doing a really good workout or not, and if we were getting the best results for our time in the gym.(they must be doing something right, we have 18 year olds benching in the 350s, squatting in the 450s and deadlifting in the 500s)
Thanks.

Do you think they are natty? THose numbers are not unheard of but are good. Are you eating enough? If you aren't you won't gain muscle. Everybody has different things that work for them. As long as you are stressing the muscle you should make gains. Try their std. workout. If it works for you great....if not try something else.
