is it a certain weight gain? or maybe time? or is it just when your gut is so big you're disgusted by it...

just wondering...

same question for cutting...if i'm gonna bulk again anyway, how far do i go? till i can see abs? till i reach a certain %bf? time? heh....thanks for the answers

Go when YOU feel the time is right. Im cutting next week simply because 1) its summer and damn right ill be out with no shirt on and 2) I miss my cut abs.

Thats always true, just suggesting that if your not happy with the way you look, theres nothing wrong with cutting a little early if your okay with that of course.

I plan to cut when I reach 225lbs for 3 sets of 4 reps on bench, and 3 sets of 5 reps on both deadlifts and squats. Squats are the only thing holding me back. I figure I'll be around 210lbs when I reach this goal.

Fat usually means stength though, best time to pack on mass. Take advantage!

man you guys are making wanna cut!

at the mo bulking but if i chuck in 2 mornings worth of HIIT you reckon i will slowly cut?

i know its a newb question but i feel depressed now! i just put all my fat on my hips and getting annoying now!! i wouldnt mind if it was on my back or what ever. BUlking is just way to much fun and way to easy!! i hate plaining a cutting diet!

My ultimate goal is 250. Right now I'm trying to lose a little fat before I up it again (I've gained 35 lbs since late last summer, it's getting exhausting). THe answer is, stop bulking when you feel the time is right.

Well my cut's gonna be long and slow and I've been on BGB for 6 weeks now and making great, addicting gains strength wise (hopefully not all CNS) and wanted to hit a 5x5 300lbs rack pull before the cut. That'll probably end once I start cutting.

If you have a really big gut you are bulking WRONG, remember this is Bodybuilding not Sumo Wrestling. You cant look like total **** during the bulking stage.

This is my problem too... I get really fat during the bulk, maybe cause I'm doing it wrong too. I assume you're supposed to get lots more muscle and much less fat. Is it cause I do no cardio at all during my bulking cycles? Or just eating too much? What ways can a bulk go wrong?

It depends on what kind of fat you are talking about. If you are talking about high bf % then, yes you are eating too much. Ease off a couple hundred cals and see if you can still gain weight. It could also be due to a lack of protein, but as long as you're eating 1 g/lb of bw, you should be fine.

If you are talking about having a noticebly larger stomach, but not really a higher bf%, it could be because you have lots of food in your stomach. Go to the washroom and you will look thinner!

Cardio won't help you out any. It just burns calories, which you want to avoid on a bulk. It does, however, keep you in good cardiovascular health, which is a plus in my books. Up to you if you want to do cardio or not.

Some of us here (not me in particular) are not bodybuilders- some are powerlifters.

Not to try to take over a thread here but I figured I'd throw this out there.

From december 23 of last year to now I've put on 30 pounds. Good soild mass for the most part too. Is it possible my knees could be hurting me because of this semi-sudden increase in weight? Or is it the heavy squats?

My quads are only 20 inches and my biceps are only 11. If I workout my abs, can I atleast expect fat gains on my arms and legs too? In addition to muscle ofcourse because I'm working out too.

Everyone stores fat differently but for the most part, guys don't normally store fat in their arms, some store fat in their legs and the majority of guys store fat in their stomach. If you're eating in a calorie surplus and working out, you will notice a size gain in arms/legs and a small portion of it will be fat, but depending on genetics you probably won't see too much fat gain in those areas.
