I would think 18-20%. But i'm not the best at this :D.

I'm on my first cut also. Down 20lbs so far!

16%-20% oh my. Darn it cause I was hoping to maintain 190 lbs at a very low bodyfat but I guess that is very unrealistic.

dont take my word for it bro, id wait for a few more replies first. The thing is u seem to have quite alot of muscle mass so id imagine once you get cutting you will be looking great. Similar weight i want to reach before i cut actually.

18-22% bf. Not too sure about you maintaining 190lbs at a low bf% If I were you, I would suggest striving for that low bf%, but imo you will lose more than 10lbs.

Okay so my first pics were from May 9th. It's now June 3rd. I fiddled around at 3000 calories, but I found that this was too high so I moved to 2800 calories and still found this too high. So I went most of this period at 2600 calories. I weighed in at like 193 lbs.

Next 3 weeks will be at 2400 calories and 250+ grams of protein. I will be performing 4 days of cardio at 30 minutes. I will have one carbload day each week.

I wouldnt say that you've leaned out that much, but their is improvement. Another 20lbs should bring major changes to your physique.

hey dude, just my own opinion but I would personally have bulked for quite a while longer in order to fill out a lot more. though well done on maintaining the bulk and most importantly if you feel you are ready to cut i guess you should cut and good luck with it :)

I would really consider sticking to the bulking and get the size you are after in the long run And then go from there. Depends on what you are after thow I guess. Nice work so far!

I think after this cut I'm gonna go on more controlled bulks. I've gone on some that have really made me fat and I'm not into that these days. Who knows about the future though. Thanks for the input though guys. It is very appreciated.

just keep doing what your doing for a few more months. Dont rush yourself. Stick to your goal of leaning out for now you will be suprised how much fat you can loose still. You will probablly be satisfied when you hit around 180.

I was 200 lbs on May 9th and am now about 186 lbs and it's July 12. So in about 8 weeks that is a loss of about 14 lbs. I'm sure some of that is muscle and I guess it's just a learning experience. This past two weeks I have been eating 2000 calories and 200 grams of protein. I will keep going until I lose everything and then slowly go on a bulking route.

I keep holding most of my fat in my waist and chest areas which is very frustrating. Ahhh well see what happens when I get much lower bf.

Looks like you've definitely leaned out a little - IMO I would go another 5-10 lbs down, then start a smart(er) bulk for the next go-round. You can definitely note some progress, though, so congrats! :thumbup:

I don't do much calf work but that is definitely the toughest area for me to put on mass. My traps are a definite weak spot. I'm deadlifting about 345 lbs at my weight for a few reps but I guess I should try to mix it up and add shrugs.

I went from 180lbs to 206lbs and by the looks of these pics it seems like I only gained about 5lbs of lean body mass. ahhhhhhh oh well. I guess that's the challenge we all love.

I'll agree with this man.

you look about 13-15%. your gains are going to be much more noticable at the 10% mark. Plus there are health benefits.

you definitely look a hundred times better than the first set of pics... i agree that you should cut down to within a percent or two of the 10% bf mark and then do a clean bulk up to about 200 lbs again...

That tan + shaving worked miracles for you. You look amazing compared to your first set of pictures. That being said, you're still slim but I would finish your cut and see what your strengths/weaknesses are so you can adjust according during your next bulk.

you're closer to 10-11%, but not quite there. when the abs are a solid 4 pack, you're about 10%.

i could be wrong here, but i think the chest fat is gyno. the leaner you get, the better that's gonna look, though.

Looking great man, the difference between the first pics is very noticeable.

I agree with nosaj, just finish off your cut another couple of %, then do a bulk, you'll look great and your body should start piling on the muscle.

Thanks for the kind words guys. If i've learned anything through this process it's that dieting (although annoying) is much easier than putting on quality muscle. I will be going on a much more controlled bulk using Maki's "improve big three periodization program after I accomplish this.

It's great to see you slimming up, sorry to say though, doesn't look like there's a whole lot under there. :P I say, like a few others, you wanna be bulking. What are your squats at now? I did 50 reps of 225. :D

I'm gonna post some pics as of tonight. I was 206 lbs with like 155-160 lbm and then dropped weight here and there. Never got to my goal of 5%. I'm getter closer than ever now though but with probably less lbm. I wasted a lot of time gaining mass, then not working out and losing it over and over again. So this is a message to the newbies here. BE CONSISTENT and your hardwork will payoff. Don't be a shoeshine like me and piss hardwork down the drain.

My pics are of a higlhy depleted me at 170lbs. There is no doubt in my mind that I could get to 180 lbs in two days of eating carbs and water. And you know what if my lbm is like 160lbs I shouldn't be complaining. The last pudge I have is staying around my love handles and is tough to get rid of. People will tell me to bulk up for sure but when I was at 206 lbs I looked extra bad. I have a bad case of gyno I think and the more bodyfat I had the worse it got. Right now at my lower bf it's the best it's ever been.

My goal is to cut to 5% and then slowly gain weight without ever going over 12% bodyfat.

When I was at 200 lbs + all I had to do was cut out all breads, pastas, milk, rice and potatoes and avoid sugar while eating plenty of fibrous veggies to get slimmer. This time around it was much harder. I was doing my best at a psmf but I would often snap and have carbups too much. Sometimes I'd eat carbs but only eat 1200-1500 calories. We'll see what happens. If I can get to 170lbs completely ripped I'll be very happy man because my strength in upper body hasn't gone down too much and I know my big lifts will skyrocket once i'm in a surplus.

Hmmm. I meant more along the lines of "how are you training" - your diet is clearly working for you. You're leaning out.

Are you doing HIIT? That seems to hit the subcutaneous fat better than anything (provided lifting and diet are on track, of course!).

I'm smoking a lot and not doing any cardio.:strong: Pathetic. I'm doing full body workouts and keeping the weights as high as possible and minimal sets. I really think that wasting my time for liek 5 years has mentally helped me. Like I can sense that I'm going to make huge progress this upcoming year. Built do you think I should add in some HIIT? My PSMF are somewhat disciplined so maybe I do have enough glycogen to make it productive.

I agree.

First off. HUGE improvement. You look much bigger and better then your starting pictures.

Anyways. I would check out the UD2 diet. I'm not sure of your bodyfat but you're lean enough to start that sort of diet. I think it'll work very well for you. It does for most lean bodybuilders/athletes if done right.

I'd like to finish the next month with a bang. I just don't have time to order the UD2. Well see what happens. I think I might finish with a loose psmf with some HIIT and add in a huge carbup at the end.

A couple things...

1) Not trying to change your goals. They are yours and you should be the only one concerned with achieving them. But, 5% bodyfat is extremely low and is difficult to maintain. Usually, the only people that cut down that low are competing bodybuilders. I also think that there isn't much of a difference from 7% to 5%. If anything I think most people look better at 7-8% then they would at 5%. But this is just my opinion and you can still shoot for that goal if you like.

2) I have the UD2 book on PDF. If you have an e-mail address I can give it to you. I know his books can be costly. Also keep in mind that the UD2 is more complicated then a PSMF and if you're not consistant with it you can ruin your efforts easier.

Get at me if you want that PDF. Take it easy.

Getting leaner than this is such a hassle but I really want to do it. I've found my strength hasn't decreased much at all and has improved on a lot of things. I feel a heck of a lot healthier too than I did at 206 lbs.

Right now it's to get as lean as possible and see where my strength is at. After that I want a real v-taper..lol

I've been doing some mma so I like being a lot lighter and stronger per lbs of bodyweight.

But yes I do plan to get bigger but just in a more controlled way.

I'm currently trying to cut bodyfat. These were taken like a month ago and I'm slowly starting to intensify eating habits. These are taken at 190 lbs I believe. I tried hard to gain muscle in my lats. I should have tried harder to gain some traps but oh well. My lat size probably isn't noticible from my previous pics at 190lbs (if you care to check) but my strength with chins has skyrocketed to at least 4x better than what it used to be. Overall I think this time at 190 lbs I'm carying more lbm as opposed to last year at 190 lbs.
