That totally got me pumped to go lift... too bad it's 10:30pm and I have homework/class. :(

that oly lifter was ridiculous. If that was 5 45lb plates on each side that is possibly the most impressive lift I have ever seen.

that is some of the worst form ever on those. there are some very impressive weights but alot of that i was just waiting for them to fall over or drop something on themselves.

It looks like 441lbs to me (four 20 kilos and one 10 kilo a side + bar).

I made that video. I posted it a month back or so. The song is "Arch Enemy - Ravenous"

That clean and jerk is about 540+, I believe.

That's Yani Marchokov, a SHW from Bulgaria that now lifts for Quatar. The guys like a free agent. It really illustrates the professional nature of the sport everywhere other than the USA.

I really can't tell what's on the bar... 8 reds and 2 blacks?

duffman-

that wasn't horrible form for strongman training. when picking up atlas stones or other odd shaped objects, you can't always keep a straight back, so you have to curve it. They were using that form also for the barbell clean and jerk equivalents to practice the form they'd have for atlas stone lifting, among other lifts.

whats up with the guy at 2:10 picking up an alternator or something with one hand?

whats up with the guy at 2:10 picking up an alternator or something with one hand?

Whatever it is, it's probably very heavy and the guy is amped that his grip strength can statically hold it while he lifts it. Takes quite a bit of forearm strength to do that sorta stuff.

Anyway, what's up with 1:45 CC?

Yeah, I can't touch that anymore. My strength is climbing back up though. I've been focusing on boxing but trying my hardest not to lose weight and overtrain. I'm only doing probably 9-12 sets per week per bodypart, but around the 5-8 rep range and very heavy. Seems to be working so far, I hit up a 335x5 today and it wasn't too hard, probably had another 2 in me if I was fresh. I always train after 2-2 1/2 hours of boxing practice so alot of my energy is already used. Fresh, I'm confident I could still throw up 405x1. (benching). I haven't deadlifted or squatted in months due to my knee. I had an MRI done on Friday and am waiting for the results to come in. I'm thinking surgery. :(
