View Full Version : Avocados are nasty.

I'm eating one right now, actually there is 1 spoon full left. It looks nasty, it looks like an alien barfed out green poop. I can't stomach it for some reason, after I swallow it I get this weird sensation. Anyone else here experience the same thing while eating avocados ?

I'm mixing it with Condensed milk.. all crushed out.

I find them to be quite agreeable. Perhaps it's an acquired taste?

1 avocado has 300 calories !!

So does 2.5 TBSP of olive oil. It's a source of non-saturated fat.

A bodybuilding friend of mine insisted that I start eating at least 1 avocado a day. That lasted one day.

There are much tastier ways to get 300 calories from fat. Like someone mentioned, olive oil. Sunflower seeds are also great source of fat and calories.

mixed with tuna

I think Built puts tuna in everything.

I think if I posted about not liking Tuna, Built would suggest adding tuna to it.

Hehehe...

Tuna is just so wonderful, though! Tuna and sweetpotato, tuna and mashed potatoes, tuna sandwich, tuna and cottage cheese, tuna and avocado ... the stuff ROCKS!

Yeah definently- it is just such a neutral base. Whatever you add to Tuna will make the tuna taste like whatever you added to it (sorry sounds bad).

Same with chicken IMO.

Built nailed it. Salt - I don't normally salt my food, but for avacados I make an exception. You also don't have to eat the whole thing at once, just do half at a time until you acquire the taste for it.

avocado + lime juice + salt :-)

You can also add a bit of sour cream. I guess this is the beginnings of guacemole but I often add lime juice to avocados.

Cayenne is good too on there, and tomatoes.

Dude you've gotta be kidding. I eat avocadoes daily as a treat (too bad they're freakin expensive in America!! They're currently at $1/ea out here in Utah. Blah)

Yeah, the good sized ones are 1.49 each in southern ontario. I picked up 5 smaller ones for 2.99 though. They go great in shakes.

i'll try mixing avocado into my shake. I also have Udo's blend oil which is atleast 100 calories of good fat per tbspoon.

GOD I love avocados!

I eat these religiously.... slice em up with a little salt and pepper. On eggs, with cottage cheese, on sandwiches, salads... gawd... i'd use them to brush my teeth if I could and still get clean teeth.

i just finished my second avocado in 2 days... each were the size of a canteloupe probably 2-3 cups of actual "meat" in there! i love them with some lime and a little bit of splenda! But yeah, unless u can get them from a cheap source, there's better ways to get fats. If you happen to be in Brazil at any point, buy some from there, they are cheap, large and delicious.
