Topic ^^ It's not a big mole, but it's small and it sticks out. Should I get a doc to do this for me or should I just use a knife or something and slice it off ? It's around my right trapezius, front area.

You're kidding, right? Go see you're doc. For a $30 copay he'll remove it in his office and make sure it's not a 'bad' mole.

... and for $0 it will grow right back. I have tons of moles, some rising off the surface of my skin. My dad has the same thing and every time he has gotten one removed it grew back. Ignore it FTW. Also, see a derm to make sure you don't have Melanoma.

Haha I ripped one off my back a few years ago and it literally was bleeding for 2 days straight till I went to a doctor and had the hole stitched up, see a doctor they'll cut it off.

My sister had a mole that she got a dermotoligist to cut off and it didn't grow back.

I used to have a whole ****ing hand full of warts, though. I ****ing tore all that ****t off at once along with 2 extra layers of my skin. **** hasn't gone back since. I think I bled about a pint.

moles can be anything from a 'precancerous' skin growth to a hemangioma (collection of blood vessels)...for the latter you really don't want to excise it yourself as it will bleed for days. I had one removed on my leg. it has not come back. The situation depends on what kind of mole you have, and peace of mind is priceless...just go to your doctor already!

Have it check out by a doc. If it looks funky, it's best to catch any problems early. Your life could be at stake if you just fudge. And don't EVER rip one off.

Sorry, but every situation can't be generalized. I've had mine cut off from the root. I just have scars now, not moles. And scars look way better than moles.

OMG... definately NOT cut it with a knife... have a doc check it to make sure it's not something serious. most likely is a benign outgrowth - in that case don't mess with it (unless it's really bothering you or is unatractive). if it is precancerous then he will follow up with some more studies. any history of skin cancer in your family?

Hmmmm.... funny. I'll see a doc sometime in the future (The mole isn't bothering me at all but I still want it off). I forgot to mention about it when I last went to get my wrists examined.

I wasn't trying to overgeneralize. I was speaking specifically about my dad's situation where they have grown back. My experience with moles is limited and I didn't mean to come off the wrong way.

I think seeing a doc is the best idea, though.

To add my own thoughts:

See a doctor.

Performing any surgery on yourself (as elementary as it may seem), is not a good idea.

Not all moles grow back.

If you cut earthworms in half, they will grow back as two worms.

Thanks.

I recommend you remove it with pliers.

:O

So, I had a mole next to my belly button that was ugly and big. I went to a doc. He froze it with liquid nitrogen then sliced it off with a razor blade. I'd personally do it myself.. not worth 30$, except they were able to check it for cancer... which is well worth 30$.

Go to a doctor.

On the topic of self surgery... had a wart on the bottom of my foot and went to my low temp physics lab that i work at and used liquid nitrogen to freeze it. It puffed up then blistered away in a day. Hasn't come back. My friend does that with his warts on his hands when he gets them. I tell ya tho... freezing your skin bloody hurts; looks weird too. :(

I think seeing a doc is the best idea, though.I hate them. My dad had malignant cancer like 3 times. Moles need to die. They really serve no other purpose than to look gross and cause possible cancer. Wow...moles are great. :/

Definitely go see a doc. If you see them changing shape or color, you DEFINITELY need to see a doc. That's an early sign of bad things to come.

wrap a piece of dental floss around it and yank it off

Jokes aside, you're not supposed to do any ripping, tearing, cutting, or pulling moles off yourself.
