I've gradually become constipated over the past week. I think its being caused by my sudden increase in milk and Muscle milk consumption. I've been averaging around 2-3 shakes the past few days and now I'm totally constipated. Today, I made sure I increased my fiber and water intake, but I think I was too late. I'm also eating more tuna and 15 grain bread. I think its the muscle milk. My poop has gotten soft. When i thought things were normal, the poop would suddenly get cut off in the middle of a bowel movement lol like it was suddenly obstructed and narrow. And now I seem to be flat out constipated. ??? I didn't have any milk or shakes today. I'm hoping its mainly the muscle milk itsself. My poop is beginning to resemble clumpy muscle milk. :drooling: :mad:

could be due to a lack of fiber. try and increase your fiber intake

Try taking some metamucil, it will soften your stool so you can s***....

IMO anybody taking several shakes per day should supp with fiber.

Had this problem from not eating enough solids and 2 shakes a day... 3 TB of Mineral Oil worked for the inital episode.... Moving forward I take a TB per day to keep things moving along

Fiber and water.. and salt for good measure.

The mineral oil works too. I had to do that for a while way back in grade school. However... if you look in the toilet you see s***-colored oil floating around. Kinda icky. :(

It could be worse. I am able to "go" a little in the morning after coffee. My poop isn't hard so it's not the typical kind of constipation.

Drink more water and slowly increase your fiber intake. You want to up it gradually so your digestive system has time to adjust. And if you're only taking Metamucil for fiber, you'd need around 60 pills to reach the recommended fiber intake.

Constipation sucks.

Don't jack with the pills. They're too expensive. Buy the bulk Metamucil powder, and mix 1 heaping tablespoon to a half a glass of water. Shotgun it, then follow up with another glass of water to wash it all down. The Walmart Equate version will save you a couple of more bux a container, and it's the same thing. Oh, be sure to get the sugar free version - it works much better because of a higher % fiber to inactive ingredients.

Just get your fiber from food. No need to bother with Metamucil.

not tryin to be a smart ass scarz, but it seems as if he isnt getting his fiber from food. So thats where a supp'd fiber comes in.

So thats where a supp'd fiber comes in.The recommended intake for fiber is around 25-30 grams. If you're taking Metamucil pills, you'd have to take 60 pills just to match that. I can get 10 grams from a small bagel. I'd much rather have a bagel than down 20 pills, personally. It isn't hard to get fiber from food. It's about eating the right things.

With the shakes that you aren't taking post workout I would add a cup of oats. This will help with fiber and they taste great in shakes.

I'm sure your water is fine- so maybe add an apple and some extra veggies to your daily diet along with those oats.

Im sure he's getting SOME fiber from foods. Apparently not enough. So he wouldnt have to take 20 pills. And last i checked, it was powder, not pills.

or maybe im an idiot.You're not an idiot. It comes in both. And both still provide very little fiber for the amount you're taking in. For the pills, 6 pills = 3 grams of fiber.
