Great site. I never tracked calories or anything before so I'm hoping it will really help me.

My question now is....

What is my maintenance level of calories? How much protein and carbs do I need a day?

I weigh 210lbs at 5'10.

Depends on how many you burn a day. Are you an active young lad? If so, you're maitenance may be around 4,000 calories a day.

Assuming you are not trying to lose weight, a good rule of thumb is 1 gram per pound of body weight...so you would need about 210 grams of protein.

I'm not very active at all. I basically lift or do cardio and then rest for the remainder of the day.

Right now I'm trying to lose weight and was told by many people that eating 500 cals less than maintenance is a good way to go at it.

Way to pick a random number. Everybody is different, you can't tell what he needs from the description given.

To the OP:

It is trial and error to find your maintenance calories. If you aren't losing 1-2 lbs a week, take off 250 cals. If you are losing more than that, tack on 250. Keep changing it until you get the results you want.

You need 1 g protein/lb of bodyweight and 0.5 g fat/lb of bodyweight. As long as you hit these minimums, you can fill the rest of your calories with anything you want.

I can't find whey and water mixture on the Fitday site. How do I add it?
