I can barbell curl a certain weight for more than 10 reps but I cannot barbell curl ten more pounds for even one rep (with good form, that is). Same thing with incline db press (this with only a 5 pound difference). A similar thing (but not quite as extreme) is going on with squats. What gives?

i wouldn't worry about it.....and i would also just stick to one weight for your working sets....rather than pyramiding

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks. Although, I'd still like to know what's going on. This doesn't seem to happen to anyone else.

I would get a 1lb magnets and add those to the current weight you can curl. Slowly you'll build up to 10 more pounds on the curl.

10lbs is a big increase for small biceps.
