Anyone use this in their shakes?

I added this in addition to oatmeal in my whey/milk shakes. It adds some calories- but the main benefit is that it is a decent source of Vit. E and Folic Acid. Supposedly good, good stuff. I can't hardly taste it (although I wish I could because I love the taste) and it blends well in the shake.

I recommend trying it.

Anyone know anything more about the benefits or disadvantages of wheat germ?

wheat germ is great.I add some to my salads as well

I've been using Brewer's Yeast myself.

On a side note, I didn't know that Wheat Germ was supposed to be refrigerated. I have a jar of it that's been stored at room temperature for like a year. The label says nothing about storing it cold...is that just preference?

If you haven't opened it, it should be fine. If you have opened it, I would throw it out.

And yes, I've always used wheat germ in my shakes. My father has been adding wheat germ to shakes for over 30 years.

I eat it by the spoonful if I just want something to munch on.
