I am training for football and want to become faster. Does anyone know any exercises or drills that will help my 40 time?

Thanks for the help

Sprint more, seriously.

Pylo, oly. lifts, etc can all help, but getting your form down on the running and practicing running a lot will help the most.

The majority of a 40 is not about top speed, its about how fast you get off the line. Try these:

Staggered Broad Jumps - assume your starting stance, jump forward, exploiding through the ground with both legs, land naturally, reset feet and continue. do 4 or 5 sets with each leg in front, of 12 - 15 reps. Take 90 sec rest between sets. It doesnt matter how far you jump, its all about the explosion.

Ankle Hops - stand with feet together, hop using only your ankles to jump, dont bend knees and spend as little amount of time on the ground as possible.
3 sets of 20 secs.

Dumbell jump - with no more than 20 lbs on each hand, lower into parallel squat, explode straight up as high as possible, land with soft knees. 3 sets of 5, full recovery, after each set, put down the db and do 3 more reps.
