Hi, I wondered if people here took there guns naturally further than they belived is possible for there body type.

I remeber reading an article by Robert Kennedy(Muscle mag international) and he stated he only ever got 17 inch guns becuase he was not genetically gifted and I dont think he was short.

I am currently at 16 inches pumped at 5'6 and dream of 17's naturally which is a well proportioned look for a 5'6 guy. I am not sure if they can grow that big as a natural bodybuilder of ecto-meso build.

What experiences have people had here who have gone beyond what they expected for their genetic body type.?

my arms are currently 14-15 inches pumped so to me your arms are big!! lol.
and im 5ft 6 also. I dont think there is a limit to how big they can grow, but genetics do play a big part. My dads are roughly the same size as mine, probly a little bigger, I will outgrow his arms soon enough when i reach my target of 16-17 inch arms.

I've got 15"s. My tricep strength is more important than my biceps, so I all of my curls are for gurls.

Yes, I surprised myself.

I'm 5'5" and my arms are a little over 17" cold flexed, completely natural. My goal is actually 17.5-18" if possible.

Big is a relative word, my arms are about 17" and I think they look small, but my friends think they're "huge". It all depends on you view things. I wouldn't mind having 18" arms, but it's not really important to me either way.

i thought mine were pretty big but i measured them one time and 15'' hahaha

i guess curling once every 2 months doesnt help but i really dont care! big biceps are for girly men anyways.

big biceps are for girly men anyways.Regardless, that doesn't make them any less important. But triceps make up two-thirds of the arm bulk.

I would nt call Arnold a girly man, he is one of the best Athletes the world has ever seen period.

I would hjave his becepts and be happy to be called girly anytime

he did have pretty good tricepts too and yes tricepts do make up arm size whilst bicepts help add to the illusion of size.

what does height have to with the size of your arms?

26...man...he was famed for him saying "what ya gonna do when these 24" pythons run wild on you!!!"...haha that guy is great

Height has a lot to do with size of muscles. A shorter person has less area to fill...so it is easier to increase size faster. Think of two people with the same genetic makeup...one is 5'6" and the other 6'6". They workout with the same routine...it is a lot easier to fill out a shorter frame than it is a taller frame.

sorry but thats not making sense to me - a bigger bone structure would make a difference to the arm measurement, but i dont see how the length makes a difference to how much the measurement around is

hes a legend alright - they were supposed to be 24 @ that point, i think they actually got measured in public as being 24, but this was when he was 303lbs, not the 325 he used to be - his bio on the biography channel shows him early on in his career, he looks much bigger, his arms look massive an it says a few measurement, one of which is 26" arms

bics56
06-12-2006, 12:33 PM
any time I see a shorter guy at the gym pressing the same weight as me they look way more ripped...they have less are to build up

I am not saying I am right but every short guy I see that has decent strength always appears to be bigger than us taller guys

Think about it. 2 guys, both are 200 lbs. One is 6'2" and the other is 5'7", whos going to have bigger arms?

And by bigger I dont mean more mass, simply a larger measurement.

so for all you other short guys out there[I'm 5 9"] what was the one single exercise that made your arms grow? For me its been chin ups with a narrow grip...next!

tsmithy
06-12-2006, 06:10 PM
I found french press made them grow pretty well after benching and after shoulder press so twice per week, I have 16 inches pumped and flexed at 5'6 being a large part ectomorph with skinny 7 inch wrists. They grew steadily at 1/8 of an inch every 2 weeks up until 15.5 pumped although that has tapered off now and the last 1/2 inch has taken much longer. If I ever get to 17 I will have suprised myself. I am only training triceps once per week now, u have to listen to ur body and feel if u are over training.

I don,t think french press is a very popular exercise but I remeber reading one article in one of the bodybuilding mags where the bodybuilder worked his arms up to 20 inches with this movement.

I think u just need to select three or even a couple of exercises that feel comfortable and u enjoy and then blast away, be that narrow grip press, overhead tricep raises, cables etc etc. Then swap the order around every few months. Your arms can,t fail to grow.

My triceps were sore for at least 3 days.

24' quads at 5'6? Is that at least decent?

I'm at 13.25" cold, 14.25" flexed as far as arms go. My priority is chest now, I'm shooting for 45" eventually, I'm at 40.5" now.

Blasting my triceps at the moment, noticing very gradual impreovement, any tips for training tri's?

Blaze I've got somewhere between 16.5-17" bi's when I'm not working out and I'm 6'5", long arms are not a bad thing, bro. I'm shotting to get really big forearms and working the bi's and tri's, screw the tri's only HAHA. it's an awesome look when you can flex you're forearms with you're arms straight, no one is gonna be callin' you're arms small that's for sure. I do jump ropes/ holding DB's for shrugs, calf raises, and DB rows all hit my forearms a lot.

This is an inaccurate statement right here. First of all its will be much easier for someone who is 7 feet tall to acquire 18 inch biceps than someone who is 5'4". Yes maybe if two people of different heights both weighed 200 pounds, the shorter guy would have bigger arms, however someone who is 6'2" can easily hit 200 pounds after about a year of lifting someone who is 5'7" would have a hard time getting to 200, if even possible to get there naturally therefore you should understand that for a taller person everything is going to be in a ratio to their frame including their lifts.

mine are 16", but it's mostly bicep. I didn't realize until about a month ago that my triceps are tiny. You could probably look at my the flexors on my forearm and say they're bigger than my triceps. Probably cause I've been trying to cut for a long time and I've been ignoring how disproportionate my body is getting. :(
