Crazy ****in arch man.

06-12-2006, 08:06 PM
Can someone explain the advantages of arching? Is it just a shorter ROM?

06-12-2006, 08:22 PM
that 275 x 4 was impressive. you had more in the tank!

..I hate you. :)

06-13-2006, 05:51 AM
Damn, your first time using a shirt and you hit 375? You'll have 4 plates in no time!

06-13-2006, 06:27 AM
WBBIRL - The mighty midget!

Beast - Thanks buddy, I dont think my archs gotten any better I think my belly's just gotten bigger.

Anthony - Hell yah man I hope so!

06-13-2006, 06:49 AM
What the...

375 looked pretty easy, actually. Did you ask for the three spotters?

Your arch on the CG is stunning. Looks like it would hurt, to me.

Post another vid at 4pps.

06-13-2006, 07:26 AM
Nice, Kevin! How do you like your spotter being "all over" the bar on the shirted bench? That would piss me off.

06-13-2006, 10:33 AM
They looked like noobie spotters...

Awesome benching dude... strong as hell!!
4 PPS I think is already there with a shirt...
Your Raw has to be > 325 with the way you threw up that 275 with ease..

06-13-2006, 01:10 PM
MM - Yah i asked the two random guys to side spot, since some people dont seem to know the main spotter was WBB's very own drew.

Progress - The spot was fine, it was drew and he knows how to spot so I knew he wouldnt touch that **** unless really necessary. He just didnt wanna see me throw the bar on my face like a guy did at our Keene, NH meet.

bear - haha drews not a noobie spotter he was just being carefull. Im sure if i really learn how to use the shirt I can get 405. As for the 275 that was close grip bench, im sure i could sqeeze out another 2 reps with comp grip, maybe even grind out a 3rd.

06-13-2006, 01:25 PM
Great with the shirt for a first time, you'll get 405 when you get comfortable and then train for a bench shirt. What do you work with on Board Presses or lockouts?

That's a close grip for you?

06-13-2006, 02:47 PM
ok, now I get it (in re the arching).

I've been doing it wrong all this time as far as getting in position is concerned.

06-13-2006, 03:19 PM

06-13-2006, 03:31 PM
What kind of underwear was Drew wearing?

06-13-2006, 04:15 PM
What kind of underwear was Drew wearing?
Hanes, poly douple-ply. :D

The two side spotters were newbs. I was being a little over-cautious because of them.

Ron, thanks. I try.

I think Kevin also has a video of me completely bailing on 315.

06-13-2006, 04:17 PM
I just noticed your close grip is my regular grip. :D

06-13-2006, 04:46 PM
T+P - My close girp bench I put my arms straight up, not angled inward at all. I grip right at the end of the knurling.

Mic Solost - Right at the end of the knurling and where the smooth begins, arms straight above me.

goodwinner - Thanks man

drew - sorry man i deleted that, i dont like to keep looking at failed lifts.

Anthony - you bench hands at the end of the knurling?

06-13-2006, 04:52 PM
Anthony - you bench hands at the end of the knurling?

Yep, index finger is half on smooth, half on knurling!

06-13-2006, 04:57 PM
what the hell do you consider a close grip bench then, I was taught anything inside the rings is close grip bench and that arms straight up is the best way to approach a "close grip" bench and the furthest in you should go.

06-13-2006, 04:59 PM
I haven't done them in awhile, so I don't remember what was comfortable, but I'm pretty sure full hand on smooth, maybe pinky on knurling.

06-13-2006, 07:44 PM
damn anthony thats close, for my close grip i use middle half on rough and smooth.

ive told you this already but your a sick man.

06-13-2006, 08:06 PM
Damn I've always done close grip with my hands only about 4inches apart.....
