Olive oil is a good source of healthy fat. it is also high in cals so helps people reach higher calorie levels easier. Make sure you have some in your diet

Just make sure its extra virgin, other ones seem very low in cals and other stuff.

Extra virgin is first press so it's darker and has more flavor (tastes great). It does not affect calories or fat gms. It's ALL fat!

Olive oil is also a UCP-2 uncoupler...to put it simply, you have certain uncoupling proteins in the mitochondria, when they are uncoupled you have a net release of energy in the form of calories and the oxidation of fat cells (think of this as a fat cell going from being bonded to the skin to being liberated into the blood stream)...the drug DNP does this, but at a much higher degree.

Then there is also all of the cool things that olive oil does for heart health, etc.
