Theres only 1 scale I see at my gym, and it's one of those old scales, where you change the 2 side-scrolling things and try to even out on your weight by changing the scrolling tabs I guess? My question is how do you use it? I get confused if I'm trying to get the side to touch the top or get it in the middle, or get it to touch the bottom.

Haha, that is a really confusing post, sorry. I didn't know where else to post it

if you're talking about one of these, the idea is to get it to balance in the middle, touching either the top or bottom and you've either got too much or too little weight.

Yeah but if it's only lightly touching the thing then you're *roughly* at the correct weight.

yeah, that's it, alright thanks! The gym people keep all the digital scales in their offices.

LOL..it's not an "old" scale, necessarily.

I kinda like those...

they are sometimes thought of as more accurate because they don't take gravity into effect

What exactly does that mean? Isn't weight a function of gravity? How can any scale *not* take gravity into effect?

Atmospheric conditions tamper with proper measurement of weight as well as density and gravitational pulls can also make your weight fluctuate. I do not know how it all works but I think it's something like that. I will search the net for a proper explanation and post a link if I can....

Weighing youself at the gym won't be as accurate as weighing yourself naked after you wake up in the morning.
