View Full Version : What to eat after biking?

Summer is upon us and with the warm weather I've been riding my bike everywhere, store, gym, university, trails.

Question I have is: What should I be eating right after finishing 45-60 minutes of biking?

Currently in my water bottle I have gatoraide (2 servings) mixed with 2 scoops of protein powder. Then I eat a normal meal about 30 min after coming back home.

Normal food should be fine.

Unless you are very concerned about unwanted glycogel depletion.

Then again, the gatorade somewhat prevents that.

Also going to depend on what else you eat during the day and what your goals are.

I would save the protein for after you get done, IMO. But real foods good, the gatorade is good durning. Make sure your gettin tons of water also.

im sure the protein and gatorade is sufficient seeing that whole food is probably fine after biking. i might even cut out the protein totally or cut it down to one scoop if you really feel the need to take in protein.
