Been excercising/dieting for a little over a month now. I just started www.fitday.com about 3 days ago and all three days I have 3,000 cal intake and 6,000 burned. Is this really bad? I'm kinda scared about it. I know its good to be like 500 cal under, not 3,000. Should I eat a ****load more?
I don't feel weak or rundown. Just worried about it.

don't use the fitday cals burned, it is not an accurate guage of how many calories you really have burned.

ugh, my problem is probably that fitday.com confuses the pants off me. I figured my output was jacked up so high because I weigh over 300 pounds. I lift and walk 3 miles 5 out of 7 days and I'm on my feet all day at work.

How do you guys tell how much cals you burn throught the course of the day?You can probably never find that out. What people do is manipulate their calories based on their progress. The whole BULKING and CUTTING thing. Your calories burned can change depending on increased metabolism and/or weight change. It's not always the same, especially when you're trying to pack on muscles.

When you find the amount of food it takes you to stay the same weight every day and then count those calories.

When you find the amount of food it takes you to stay the same weight every day and then count those calories.Yes, but that can change depending on quite a few factors, which is why it's a good idea to track everything you eat.

Couldn't you track how many calories you burned simply by wearing a heart monitor that measures cals?

That's not going to estimate your basal metabolic rate.
