You're not the first (aspiring) bodybuilder to drink alcohol. I recommend the search (http://www.wannabebigforums.com/search.php) function.

And welcome to the boards ;)

Oh baby, I love me some beer. I drink a lot of beer after a hard session and I always have a couple of beers the night before a meet. (I'm a PLer, not a BBer :D )

I would only drink if I'm at a party or hang out with friends at a sports bar, so I keep my drinking very limited.

I was a heavy drinker when i started lifting and have been at the point where i drink 50-70 beers a week, 10-20 once or twice a week, and not at all, i really have noticed little difference except that cuts are extremely ineffective while drinking. Its biggest effect on gains is just putting a cramp on your diet and making you lazy. Currently i dont drink often and if i do, its every 2 or 3 weeks. When drinking that infrequently, i highly doubt it has any effect at all even if it turns out to be a night of binge college-style drinking. It wont help your lifting and will hinder it somewhat but i think people overexaggerate how negative it actually is.

Currently in college, drink way too much....

Drinking a lot messes up my sleep schedule, which is fairly detrimental to weight lifting goals. Oh yeah, it also makes you fat.

i'm 19 and have a beer gut from drinkin... I really cant seem to shift it no matter how much cutting, ab exercises or protein etc I eat. cts122 i envy you for being able to drink that much and not notice a difference...

I have decided to stop drinking altogether and see if that makes a difference, sucks tho cause beer is almost important to me as my workouts.
