Yes, regular steel cut oats. A staple in my diet. I eat 2 cups a day of dry oats. 1 cup before workout and one cup after. They are my only major carb source and work great for me.

you eat just dry oats without any milk? man that sounds unapealing. I just have a bowl of porridge oats in the mornin (roughly 1 cup). it gives me the energy i need to do my workin out. Throughout the day i just usually eat tuna, vegetables and slices of brown bread heh.

Mix with water, microwave for 2 minutes, add a scoop of protein, mix, eat. Quick, easy, tasty meal.

hmm....i guess i'll have to try that.....so you i'm guessing you don't just dump it in your protein shake.....it doesn't look like it would mix at all....or do you guys blend it?

i dump them right in, and let them sit a couple minutes to soften.

Or you can grind them up first. I've heard it works well if you put them in the blender first (with nothing else) to grind them to a dust. Then you add everything else.

blenders take time to set up, use, and wash.

oats and whey is crappy enough. why not just take it straight and get it over-with?

8oz milk in the shaker, dump in the oats, shake, sit, shake, drink, rinse shaker, repeat in a while.

Oats and whey is amazing. Add alittle splenda/cinnamon. I would almost rather have a bowl of oats/whey then most deserts. Nitrean/oats is a treat.

You are better off eatting a higher GI carb source after a workout. Pasta for instance.

Yes, yes it is. All you need to add is tbsp of OO while mixing in the Nitrean.

Ugh, steel-cut oats for the lose! Those things taste so bad... give me a ground-up batch of regular oats any day, it's about 35 times more appealing to me than steel-cut oats, which actually closely resemble hampster feed.

Ive heard oats+whey is the best thing to eat after a workout, on alot of websites.

Just like in the morning, something about insulin choregraphical disquisition.

Well imo, carbs are fuel, and after a instense workout your body is looking to repair and refuel and I think faster GI carbs do the job.

"Faster GI" is a bunch of nonsense.
