I misunderstood the instructions for this workout:

Complete as many rounds in twenty minutes as you can of:
21 Jumping pull-ups
65 pound barbell Thruster, 15 reps

Set-up so that your pull-up bar is about nine inches below your max reach and jump vigorously for each rep. Count only the reps where you go from full arm and shoulder extension to chin over the bar.

...and ended up doing jumping pull-ups on the bar on top of the power rack, about 6" above my max standing reach (which was about the right height if CF had meant max jumping reach).

My question is, what do you think the difference is as far as difficulty/effectiveness of the workout? I think I could have completed more rounds doing it as rx'd, but do you think I missed out too much on the point of the exercise? Either way, it nearly killed me - but I definitely want to try again as rx'd.

What you did is more difficult, but I'm sure the effect is very similar (aka, you got your butt whooped).

Yeah, it was definitely tough. Now I know what people mean by feeling Pukie thinking about paying a visit!
