i have been doing "fit day" for a while now, but what are the "macros" that are discussed on this site....the pie chart?
one thing that i have noticed from tracking my diet is that I am extremely inconsistant. the amount of calories that i take in per day vary a lot. also i noticed that i am not getting enough calories according to what is recommended, but yet i am not losing weight. maybe i'm getting my calories from the wrong foods....but i am trying to improve that now.
also, i am only getting an average of 80 g of protein per day and i weigh 180 lbs. I am thinking i am going to need more shakes per day. i am currently drinking 1 per day.

macros refer to the 3 main macronutrients...protein, carboyhydrates, and fat
don't base "what is recommended" by fitday's numbers...track your weight and calories for a week and determine if you go up in weight, stay the same, or go down...then adjust according to your goals (more to gain weight, less to lose weight)
you should be getting at least 180g of protein a day
EDIT: you don't necessarily need more shakes, just more protein. If shakes are easier for you to make, that's fine. But you should def. be able to get 180g by eating enough chicken, fish, beef, milk, cottage cheese, etc.

thanks kingwilder. i am working on the way i eat now. i will try to get the protein up as high as i can with food and fill in the rest with shakes. i need to finish off my current protein powder so i can try some nitrean since it gets such high reviews on this site. I have been working out for over a year and a half and have not seen as much results as i would like....thats why i am working on my food intake now. i worked out for several years when i was in my early 20's and noticed much faster results....i am 30 now and have an office job so progress is a little slower.

Bcorn, from what everyone has told me, if you usually get 80g a day of protien, dont all of the sudden jump up to 180g. Go slow. Maybe bump it up 50g by the end of the week, and 50g by the end of the next week. Or simpily 10gs a day. Give your body time to adjust.
Adjustment sucks I know, I am adjusting into a higher calorie diet, and I can only eat 200 more cals a week.
