No, you won't gain weight like you think. It's just food. Whey is a product of cheese.

whey protein concentrate and particularly whey isolate are highly efficient proteins. they are an aid to gaining muscle (since muscle gorwth requires amino acids). However the main factors in gaining muscle are training, calorie surplus and REST.

That's the secret to gaining weight, EAT more than you burn off.

If you don't currently track your calories, go to www.fitday.com and start.

1) Weigh yourself in the morning when you first wake up
2) Track you calories on fitday for a week
3) Weight yourself again in the morning when you first wake up
4a) If your weight went down, you're not eating enough. Add 200 calories and try again.
4b) If your weight stayed the same, that's your maintenance. Add more calories.
4c) If you gained weight (1-2lbs a week is healthy), then keep going.

*every week or two remember to weigh yourself to make sure your body hasn't stalled. When you stop gaining weight, add more calories.

it's not necessary, just buy and eat lot of food

*however, if you're on a budget, than something like Opticen and Nitrean could be more cost effective than buying tons of food
