i dont know if this is the right place to post this...but here goes...

when i shrug in the gym....i just shrug up and down slowly...with heavy db's

but i have seen people lifting up, and pulling back... i.e squeezin shoulder blades......... sort if making a circle with the shoulders....

which is the right way..??? i find that my way is effective and im happy with my progress....but im no expert

You are doing them correctly. Up and down. Pull toward your ears.

excellent.......ive always been looking at those guys that rotate, and thinking wtf!!!......these are always going to be the same guys that bend the elbow when they lift.....thats bad form too right?

Since the shoulder is so flexalbe because of its lack of tendons and ligiments in it those people who are rotating, are much mroe suseptable to injury.
