View Full Version : 5lbs in 3 weeks? - No Milk!

07-10-2006, 07:33 PM

I'd like to gain around 5lbs in 3 weeks. I'll be working out at least 6 days at the gym.

I'm pretty damn skinny. 5'10, 119lbs, 16 years old, male.

First off, I don't think I eat enough. Every day at the gym I run - I don't necessarily want to work off all the calories? If I work out every day, shouldn't I be trying to eat much much more?

What would you suggest? How about a power bar simply for convenience reasons. Something that's easily available. Also, I don't need anything intense, just a basic power bar.

Here's the catch: I'm lactose intolerant. Milk is obviously out of the question.

Why are you working out every day? What's your training routine look like? Your diet? You have a lot of reading to do.

Thanks for posting.

Yea, I work out with a friend of mine. He thinks if we work out different muscles each day ( in a span of 3 days ) that it's fine to work out every day.

I'll have to start reading.

Stop listening to your friend. You don't need to work out every day to see awesome results. And it may very well lead to overtraining. Check out the WBB#1 Routine I posted above. You'll be surprised at the days which you have to work out. Good luck!

And here are 2 more of your problems...
If you aren't eating enough.. and you run everyday.. oops, could you be in a calorie deficit state??? oops, I think so!!!

Dude.. here are 3 simple steps:
>>Eat.. a lot more.. it doesn't have to be milk, there are meats, eggs, protein mixes (Nitrean is the best), nuts, peanut butter, etc.. for your protein.. the rest should be healthy food and supps to fill in the blanks..
>>Lift.. a lot heavier.. and look at a respected routine like WBB #1, 2 or 3.. or BGB..
>>Stop running so much.. look at doing HIIT for your cardio.. do you want the shapre of a sprinter or a marathon runner??

Eat til' it hurts. Then double what you just ate. Then eat some more. Once you're done eating, eat again. Finally, when all your eating is complete, eat yet again. Get the idea? The calorie is king.
